Growing a Date Palm from Date Pits Experiment

I was watching some KZbin Videos for things to try and i discovered Jane on "MyInspiredCreation" growing date palms from seed... so i thought i would give it a whirl :) check back later for updates :)

This looks like a lot of fun. Date palms grow everywhere in my area so at least I know they'll do well here. I noticed someone is selling 10 of these seeds for one cent on Amazon, but I have never tried a date before so maybe I'll buy the fruits instead.

oh i put it between the wet tissue and kept it inside container, now they have germinated white colour looks like white warms. It defiantly works because dates grows in the hot countries and keeping them inside container helps them stay warm and grow back

Hi..i have some fresh yellow dates..could I use those seeds?or must I use the darker coloured dates?Thank you

As long as they are ripe fruit... they should work

Hello I'm trying this and I can see some of the seeds starting to sprout! However....there are tiny brown/black specks around the seeds. Is this normal? Or is it a fungus or spores? Thanks

I think it's normal. but these are very small seeds and my eyes would go crossed if i looked to hard.

Hey guy! thank's for sharing this video with us.. I am trying to germinated dates using two methods at the same time, yours, with papier towel and plastic bag and another one with a bowl of water which I've covered.. I want to know which of those methods is the faster. I can't wait to see them growing up.. :-)

shouldnt you blow some air in the bag. I saw that on other videos. I thought they were hard to grow since they cost like three hundred dollars for a small tree...in dateland, az.

but if u put the seeds in the bag they dont get air can they grow without air ?? I tried it too one week ago they arent grow :(
