I have bred a cool cultivar by hybridizing with pygmy daffodils. I managed to make an incredibly short daffodil with perfect form and a beautiful flower. The flower has yellow petals that go white on the tips and it also has an orange trumpet.

Lots of info and I loved seeing all stages from seed to 1st year 1 leaf stage to flowering, the only thing I'm not down with it using Round up... even if I'm not eating them I still don't want to use a cancer causing product and support Monsanto. just my 2 cents. Thanks for the great video, looking forward to starting my own seeds and seeing what happens.

Each to their own, I used to be very anti-spray but there is no denying it is a huge labour saver, especially with bulbs. And somehow my father is still alive at 80 something after immersing himself in chemicals all his life.

A very good and informatıve vıdeo, so much better than the other youtube video poster who swears he gets them to flowering in one season after collecting unripe white seeds directly after the blooms fade , I have a garden wıth lots of wild tazetta daffodils that I have been increasing in number over the last few years. Last year I missed the seeding period, but there are now thousands of self-sown seedlings coming up in all the beds. These last few days I have collected nearly half a pound of seeds. I think I might broadcast them around the local countryside. Keep planting.

I really hope I don't mess it up. I bought some blue daffodil seeds, which were apparently made through genetic engineering. I don't know much about gardening, but hopefully they will grow.

I've never seen a blue daffodil, GE or otherwise. However if they do come out blue please report back here!

Can you sow seed from a seed pod the is still green even though the seeds inside of it were black?
@tr33guy2 жыл бұрын
Hi, they may be viable. Give them a bit of a squeeze, if they're hard they're ripe, if they burst and are full of liquid they're probably no good. I usually wait until I can shake the seed pod and hear a rattle, as that indicates they have detached. Anyway, I would plant them regardless, you never know.
