@@ScaryHairyGary I actually starting picking in December and they have great oil content. They took about 3 weeks to ripen well, but I’ve heard Pinkerton’s take few days longer then regular Hass🤠

They grow in Modesto that’s for sure, hoping the rest go in well. Glad to see the winters trees up and thriving!! Need to visit soon

Hi Gary, in your experience do Pinkerton avocados turn black or dark when ripe? Or do they stay green even when ripe?

Gary I've got a young pinkerton, trunk maybe 1" diameter if I'm being generous, but it is in full lollipop mode. It's about 5 feet tall, staked, in a 25 gal container. If I untie it from the stake it wants to completely fall over. Should I prune the top of the main stem and leave just the lower branches to take over, so I can unstake and let it grow in a more bushy form, or should I wait until it gets thicker? I'm up in Petaluma, if that makes any difference.
