I don’t get what you mean by harvesting your earlys and second earlys do I leave the smaller potatoes in the soil?
@TheGreyGardener19908 ай бұрын
Potatoes can be categorised into earlies, second earlies and main crop. Basically depending on what you plant, determines the length of time they take to grow. Earlies can be planted first and are ready first etc.

Nice!. Have you ever started main crop in march? I was thinking of doing this. I prefer thd larger spuds for chipping and baked potato. Was thinking they might be ready earlier
@TheGreyGardener199010 ай бұрын
I probably have done yeah but couldn't tell you the results. Don't think it would make too much difference really?

@@TheGreyGardener1990 yeh i guess with the weather already heated up and ready the spuds start off the block better. I grew tomatoes earlier last year Nd started in june for the rest and they outgrew the earlier ones

Get them in mate I'm sure you'll end up with something. I put a few more in only 2 weeks ago

People tend to say no later than July. That way you extend the growing season into November when it's wetter, creating potential issues with blight etc,
