I had a Dalmatian named Ellie & when our son Sean was born, the sun rose and set w/Sean ❤, the 1st days home you are tired, emotionally drained, nervous.....Ellie never left his side! I had to draggggggg her to go out, she watched over him in the bassinet, and then the swing, they were best buddies., he's almost 23 now and he'll bring her up w/some of the most amazing memories. Hard to believe that was so long ago

So true, when my daughter was born I had Maggie my hundred pound Rottweiler and the day I brought her home from the hospital she laid by her crib to guard her and she was always there with my daughter in everything my daughter did. I trusted Maggie with my daughter more than I would another human. When my daughter was 4 years old, one time my daughter would not listen to me I told her to do something and I went over to her in frustration and Maggie jumped up in front of my daughter and warned me with her teeth and a little growl that I better not hurt her girl. I calmed down, I smile to myself and my daughter put her arms around Maggie and Maggie licked her cheek to tell her I always take care of you. That was 25 years years ago and my daughter still has meggie's collar at her house in her bedroom hanging on her dresser.❤

@@march24-lp4pv I knew there would be at least one person like you that would reply. It was great judgment because for 10 years she was my daughters guardian and best friend. She was there holding my daughter up when she was learning how to walk, she was there laying in the backyard playing with her and guarding her from strangers, she was there when my daughter wanted Maggie for security by her bed. She was laying there in her room letting my daughter read to her. She was with my daughter when she wanted to walk to the corner store to get candy or to run beside her bike around the block. Maggie was there when The Neighbors cocker spaniel attacked my daughter and before I could even reach my daughter, Maggie had that cocker spaniel by the neck. My daughters second grade teacher asked all the kids to write about a good friend they have and why they are your their friend. And my daughter's teacher said she didn't know till she got to the end that she was writing about our dog Maggie. When we had to put Maggie to sleep my daughter cried so hard and she wasn't herself for quite a while. And because of this proven loyalty and love Maggie had for my daughter and would have died protecting my daughter, that I can say I trusted her more with my daughter than I would a human. Go ahead and judge I don't care, because I got to witness a beautiful relationship for 10 years and that's priceless and your opinion means nothing to me.

Her name was Chanelle, and she was literally my best friend, may she rest in peace 😭 I swear, having a dog or any other type of pet is the best thing you can do with your child because it'll teach them so many wonderful things. Thanks to Chanelle being there for me, I'm studying hard to become a veterinarian. I miss her every day but at least I have her daughter, Mia, with me and she looks just like her amd has the same amount of energy I remember she had. ❤

Please don’t feel sad go to the shelter where a dog there is waiting for u , not to replace ur dog cause those are memories u have furrever 🐾 So many shelter dogs need a home sadly waiting to be loved n taken from that shelter place. I rescued a dog from a shelter the sad look in their eyes heartbreaking had mine 7 yrs after the rescue only she was a sick one. Gave her a chance to be loved. 🐾🐶💙

Hace 2 años q mi hija tuvo q poner a dormir a su perrita.,le dió cáncer y todavía no hemos superado esa su perdida 😢.,fue muy doloroso para mi familia.,mi hija todavía tiene las cosas d nuestra perrita.,yo algunas iba y olía su carpeta pq tenía su olor.,hay mucha gente q llama a su animalitos .,"Mascotas" pero cuando te d verdad las llegas a querer.,Tus mascotas llegan a ser como otro miembro más d la familia.,y una bendición de Dios.,y lo dice una persona q no le gustaban los animales.,bueno.,no era q no me gustaran los perros la verdad es q Les tenía miedo.,Y Ivy.,así se llamaba la perrita.,me ayudó a perderle el miedo a los perros.,Siempre la voy extrañar.,Dios mio estoy escribiendo con un nudo en la garganta y lágrimas en mis ojos.
