I have never heard of a plant called water spinach or maybe it’s just spinach grown in water? Will this great planting method work on regular spunach or kale etc?

Water Spinach is not the same as Kale or Regular Spinach. We call it Kangkung or Kangkong in the Philippines. Unlike Regular Spinach and Kale, it grows and loves watery environment, and loves tropical climates. However my father grew it in Utah during the spring and summer in pots, watered it well, and he was fairly successful. It is banned in several southeast states in the US because when it was introduced a few decades ago, grew profusely, and it plugged up waterways in cities and caused a lot of damage because it didn't have the natural predators to it (humans and other animals eating it naturally in southeast Asia).

Like my bro above here, in Malaysia we called it the same, Kangkung or Kangkong. Normally it florish so well if we plant it around water drainage or sewage area. Tortoise loves it so much as it tasted good. Edit: Try looking for recipe in youtube, 'Kangkong Masak Belacan' 🤤

What soil did you use? Mine didn't grow tall at all. I used garden soil bought from home Depot and cow manure.

​​@KL-sf6jx try with a cactus type mix of coarse sand Listen closely when he dumps it in- sounds almost gravely sand, nothing floats when watered and water runs out clear. No organic matter. All minerals. I took a couple courses in soil science- just like clase 😅
