Devon you have so much personality and charisma, I could watch podcasts with just you all day! Don't get me wrong, I love watching you interact and interview people, but you are also so hilarious on your own..maybe "answering your dms" could be a semi-regular thing.
@Aquablast64 Жыл бұрын
It would be interesting if you had a conversation with Carlos Pena, since he was competing against you for the role of Ned and later on started in Big Time Rush.
@RyanStorey1231 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, if acting/podcasting/whatever doesn't work out, I could honestly see you rebranding yourself as a standup comedian. I really mean it. You're not only funny, but you have a natural charisma and comedic timing that I think would make you prime for the standup scene. And being a former child actor who peaked after their one big show, that's literally ripe for material and you already do a great job at taking the piss out of yourself on that front.

I love this so much. Devon, you seem like you have a really genuine and great personality and I could not stop laughing, but you also sound very grounded in your worldview. I'm so glad I found this podcast.
@Weedtortoise Жыл бұрын
Really agreed with your take on child acting, it is an incredibly heavy career for a child to take on. Especially when there are grown adults still grappling with understanding the complications of their own roles and emotions.
@RyanStorey1231 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, and honestly? Whenever I see interviews with child actors, they freak me out. Because they're usually these precocious little kids who talk like adults and they'll start dispensing wisdom like they've seen shit (and they probably have), but it's like: "Why are you talking like this? You're 10!" But child actors sort of have to be mature for their age.

I love how you so effortlessly oscillate between being serious, deep, and thoughtful and being chaotic, silly, and lighthearted 😆😊❤ You gave some great advice! I always wanted to pursue acting growing up but I didn’t get into it until college. I was disappointed and felt like I was behind for a while. However, in retrospect, I’m grateful that I was able to have a “normal” childhood. I’m still in the process of figuring out who I am and what I want 😅 Thank you for sharing your perspective and personal experiences with us! 🫶🏻

Your attitude and just how real you get is something I could get behind and love watching/hearing. Especially being a few years younger than you, it's great to hear topics that are relatable. I was always drawn to you as a child with your show. Im happy that your still a figure that brings me joy now that im an adult. The money thing you mentioned reminded me of a study that attempted to see relation of money and feeling content. What i remember is money creates happiness in the sense of people who dont make enough to afford housing and food or who struggle in general feel much happier once they go over the threshold of being able to reach their needs with room to pursue some wants. It also mentioned that extreme fortune does not seem to leave happy people since those extremely rich tend to feel more depressed, especially if they grew up rich since they kind of already peeked. So poorer people are more likely to feel anxiety since they don't feel secure and rich people are depressed. So maybe middle class is the best place to be financially 😅

Devon, I think we're almost the same age, so Ned's was perfect for me at that time. I really appreciated how you were able to make light of the messiness of life and embrace the weirdness of reality. Watching the stuff the trio of you now feels equally appropriate, but in a whole different way. I appreciate you being honest and shameless. Thanks!

7:26 It’s tough but I hope you find someone who loves you flaws and all, who supports you, who has a personality that compliments yours, someone who shares a similar sense of humor and can make you laugh hard, and who sees your energy & appreciates it. In other words, someone who can truly be your best friend too. A friend of mine was friends with this girl for a long time (which was surprising) who checked off all these essential boxes, he dated many girls during this time, until he realized she was the one all along & let go of some fears he had. Now they’re married. I hope the best is yet to come for you Devon :)
