i was surprised when you said this is the 1st time you heard of 'Hoppers' in sri lanka. almost every foreigner visit our country immediately fell in love with two foods one is Kotthu other one is Hoppers. i don't know how well hoppers taste with ketchup because there is a special spicy chili paste to eat with hoppers it tastes delicious with it. that local gentleman might thought it would be too spicy for you. i really admire you for visiting local house and interacting with them. i enjoy your vlog so much keep up the good work guys...✌🙏🤗
