Growler, Used to Test an Armature for Shorted Coils Part 1 (2)

Hi guys! I would like to share to you the easy way to check if your armature has shorted coils or commutator!
Sometimes the damage to the armature or the commutator are not visible, and checking through a tester would take much much time. That is why I would recommend using a growler, it's fast and easy to use. Plus, I can be used more than to detect shorted coils ;) (I'll share it someday, don't worry).

What size of copper wire and how many turns can use to make crawler .

just enough sir that it would not burn from using 220v og 110v. Unfortunately i have used an old AVR so that i would not need to count the number of turns and the gauage of the wire

Don't use mains voltage. Use a powerful transformer to drop the voltage down to safer values. The growl will also be stronger with a bigger current. You will save winding wire too, it needs to be thicker, though.

@@tttttttt8482 For transformers only: Simple. Make 10 turns and measure the output voltage. Then divide that voltage by 10. You now got the voltage per turn, multiply that by the amount of volts you need. This won't work with primary coils, though. And be careful, because not enough windings and you could have a fire hazard!

230V 50Hz or 120V 60Hz mains. Lethal if you don't know what you're doing!

No good I make growler, part.get in microwave oven, the transformer, I try the good armature, still magnitizing, I try damage armature, still magnitizing..im not satisfied for this growler for testing of armature

You show the video hacksaw is not magnitizing...after you shorted the commutator, it magnitize...but me good and bad armature same reaction...its magnitize all size of the armature...thats why not satisfied for this growler that I made...

Hello Albert, there is still a bit of magnetic on the hack saw blade even if its good or bad armature. The only difference is that on a shorted coil the magnetic is much stronger. Wait I will send you a video
