Hi there. Great work. Just one question. Will the metal in contact with graphite became rusty since graphite is quite a noble metal? Thank you.

Thanks for presenting some alternatives.. I suck at soldering, so it was good to see that soldering just isn't a very good way to do this. Epoxy it is!

Just watched ur video, what a waste of time simply use a winding wire of appropriate swg drill and fix using aluminium dust mixed with epoxy resin,degsar if available in ur country goes best with epoxy.

Hello friend, good video, I need your help for a question. I have a metal cutter armature with 18 turns per slot with 18 gauge wire. I want to put 20 gauge wire in it. I would like to see how I would like to see how many turns I should increase to put 20 gauge wire on it, please help me.
@JakeMarvinVillegasАй бұрын
If 30 turns can fit you should try, if it can fit more you should put more

I need to fix an abs pump for my Honda Fit/Jazz, due to age (2008), I couldn't find any carbon brushes... If I buy some good quality carbon brushes (ex.makita), could I attache the copper wires to each other instead of attaching the wire to the copper brush? Thank you.

Anyone know about specs for carbon brushes for vacuum cleaner motor VS for power tools? One would be much higher RPM, so is there a different makeup? I tried using brushes out of an old power tool for a vacuum cleaner motor, but they smell terrible when they get hot. What specs to look for in brushes for a high speed motor? Great video! Thanks

No it is not true that ''any regular graphite'' with good conductivity will work. That is why you have massive sparking! Eventually it will burn the commutator and you can only throw it away. Machine also does not have the same power as it should have. The most important thing when choosing the right graphite material for power tools is resistivity and speed coefficient!
@mightyconker39035 ай бұрын
The sparking is due to the square brush which has not worn in yet

Hi, I'm needing to rewind a 12vdc high torque motor armature. It has 16 seg and 16 slots. I plan to use 600 grit sandpaper, 20 gauge magnetic wire. That is same size wire that it had. This motor runs a mobility lift up and down through a gearbox. I know the turns is 6. I did not identify the direction or connection sequence. Currently have bare armature. Help
@JakeMarvinVillegas6 ай бұрын
Good day sir there is no need to worry about the direction of the connection as you can switch the positive and negative to reverse the spin. However the connection sequence is important if you did not take note of it before disassembly you need to estimate the contact point of the commutator and the magnetic field. It should be so that when the commutator is in contact with the electricity, the coils connected to it should be the ones in line with the magnetic field so that it will spin.
@gregstokes10256 ай бұрын
@@JakeMarvinVillegas thank you for the motivation. The motor case has tabs to be sure the commutator is applying force for N to S pull. I'm not sure of the 16 seg 16 pole, if I need two runs or just a single wave coil. I think I divide up the 16 poles so the the windings make the widest magnetic field and each winding is attached to commutator centered above on each side. I'm failing to understand two runs. I think it is in my mind right, but concerned
@JakeMarvinVillegas6 ай бұрын
You're welcome sir, just have to try it sir and see if it works. I know you can do it 😇
