As an F-22 fangirl, I adore this video. A quick tactical note: during the engagement with the 2x F-16, lead spotted you and broke high. By immediately following him, you allowed the wingman to gain situational awareness, get some offset, and turn around to get a fox 2 solution on you. A better tactic would have been to take a few seconds to fox 2 the wingman first, before pursuing the lead F-16 in that vertical 2-circle. Since the wingman wasn't aware and wasn't defending, a fox 2 shot would have been a virtually guaranteed kill, and a few seconds delay wouldn't have been enough time for the lead to go offensive on you. I think if you had done it in that order, you could have stayed out of enemy weapons solutions and wouldn't have needed to rely on flares. Great video, and I love watching you sanitize the airspace in the Raptor. Thanks for the amazing content!

In the discord I asked "Has anyone made a video about the F-35 doing whatever it is it is supposed to do? like group stealth tactics?" To which the reply was "Nice try China" I think dcs just doesn't do stealth and jamming well, and so much of what the F-35 does tactically is classified.
@forzaelite1248 Жыл бұрын
@@Vsor Tactics are classified as expected, but there's plenty of public info or pilot accounts of some of the capabilities of the systems onboard. It'd be interesting to at least try to piece together an interpretation of the systems and let the community figure out what works best but it seems they're not going anywhere near it for now. In either case they'd have to develop a lot of other things in general first, like getting the radar beaming to be physically simulated so that notching isn't as overpowered as it is now.
@grimgamer24 Жыл бұрын
The thing about it is that it would be easy to do that video, but it wouldn't represent remotely close to the real world F-35. A lot of the features it has are not in DCS (small ex. The f-35 has a towed decoy that it can have trail behind it so that missiles track that instead of the stealthed plane itself.) There are more but that was one on the top of my head
@vicnot229 Жыл бұрын
In command: modern operations I've found the F-35 much more useful than the F-22 in BVR, specially if used with “missile trucks” like the block 3 Super Hornets and F-15 EX. A F-35 can detect and track multiple conventional aircraft outside of missile range and has a much better chance at detecting enemy stealth fighters while staying safe itself. By relaying the targeting information to the launching platforms and guiding the missiles, the F-35 allows those to fire the missiles at the edge of the MAR and then immediately go cold, therefore archiving a higher probability of a kill while staying safe. There is reason to believe (so long as classified stuff goes) that the F-22 does not have the same sensor sharing and CEC capabilities as most cutting edge fighters do, therefore it is stuck doing the old “lock, then crank” maneuvers like every other fighter. It is still the best aircraft at it, but recent US comments suggest that cooperative engagements might be the future of air warfare.
@freddyd1783 Жыл бұрын
A common one is for the F-35 to go deep behind enemy lines or closer than others can and lock a target (or several). Instead of shooting, it feeds the lock data to a F-15EX which is like a missile truck and the enemies just die thinking it was the non stealthy 4th gen on radar doing all the work..
