spectre is one of the best designs in the game...icefrog clearly thought of the theme of a ghost and went full inot it...the whole phasing though objects, being able to disperse through attacks, haunting target and haunting them even harder when they're alone

Honestly the "class/character fantasy" of some characters is just INSANE. Venomancer being another great example. Undying being so hard to kill. At a point, vengeful spirit could create ghosts of allies who attack their killer I thought was insanely well fitting too but OP. Abaddon having control over life and death.

Spectre and Phantom Assassin are the same character from the lore. Oracle keeps on sending PA to new missions until she forgets who she is and fades away from the physical world and all that is left is the spectre... The skills and the voice lines are somewhat similar on the heroes too. Siractionslacks has a whole set of videos dedicated to the lore of Dota2 and they are very interesting for us Dota fans... You should Grubby check them out as well. And you'll get some Slacks shenanigans in the process too...

Spectre is one of the strongest uber late heroes. Sometimes you can win 1 vs 5 by standing completely afk in a stun 'cause of dispersion

You guys seem to think that spectre with manta aghs skadi basher turns into a creep just because her passives are gone for 4 seconds. Unless you get stunned for the entire 4 seconds its pretty useless.

Spec is the hardest carry in the game. Late game spec melts support jsut in haunt, they disappear you wont even notice, she can kill any hero, thers no counter hero for her except breaks. She is still vulnerable to magic so incase enemies are having strong magic heroes you must go bkb. Spec needs tons of farm, it literally takes 30mins to become fat for you, in 30 mins you should probably have 2 big items. But you should not always farm, everytime haunt is ready you should use it to steal kills and escape with haunt if enemeis gank you. The classic build of spec from dota 1 is = rush vanguard and max dispersion so you are immortal early game > treads > radiance > manta > abbysal blade > heart > butterfly/skadi. You can add blademail/diffusal/scepter/bloodthorn/bkb depending on enemies but radiance/manta/abyssal/heart/butter always works I always like to go safe build vanguard +dispersion early game it takes 2-3 ppl to kill you, no one can solo kill you with vanguard+dispersion. I just buy 6 tankgoes, axe, 4x branches and take adgger lvl 1 and dispersoin from next level, from lvl 4 with 2 points in dispersion and at lvl 5 with 3 you can play aggressive and start hitting them no one can do anytihng to you in lane, even if mid comes to gank you you can survive coz of dispersion and once you get vanguard you are literally immortal it will take 2-3 ppl to kill you if they run at you you can just dagger and run through trees/cliffs or haunt and tp to someone. When jungling you should kill weaker creeps first so the stornger will be alone and your desolate will work on it so you can kill faster. You should not waste your mana while jungling always keep mana for haunt and dagger for emergency, if anyone comes to gank you should be able to run away, you jsut died to zeus coz of no mana, you might have even killed him if you went on him since he was solo.

Great tips. He should also do thinking exercises, and try to visualize how a 5v5 fight will go in given teams. Who he will prioritize to attack/disable, etc. Thinking about items and strategy: Spectre vs a fragile mage majority team, vs a tanky melee team, vs a high dps team, when his team is behind, is equal, is ahead. By discussing all these scenarios with a pro player, he can get a deeper understanding of the game without playing it.

Spectre is such a nice hero, very versatile item builds and immense power as long as she is not behind. My fav build is Urn into diff into aghs for active game play but I also enjoy vanguard into blademail which makes you farm surprisingly fast.

Spectre is up there with medusa for the tankiest late game carry that dishes out insane damage. Before faceless void was reworked, the trinity of hard carry was void, spectre and medusa because they were nearly unkillable with enough farm.

I remember when back in Dota 1 Spectre was by far THE hardest carry, but it played much differently. The idea was to get radiance and max out HP by stacking hearts of tarasque, so in fight whenever you attack spectre anyone around it would die from dispersion damage. And nothing really could compete vs her, because at least to kill spectre, half of your team, if not whole, was guaranteed to die.

Spec is one of the hardest carries in the game, however her laning stage is horrific if your enemy decides to do anything useful. Mangos could be really good if you have any kill potential in lane. She's a very hard pub hero IMO. Desolate works on creeps, so while jungling murder the small creeps first. You really want a radiance if you get a free lane, if not MoM + Diffusal can murder people, or at least help you farm ancients to catch up with just the early MoM. Diffusal being better if you can hunt enemy heros.

In minute 19:30 u might have swapped treads to int to get the mana for dagger and might have killed the shadow shaman. Those small plays make big differences long term

Actually, they kinda won 4v5. Spectre didn't intervene for quite a while. Spamming q and manta for jungling, hence he said "I can't help them, I have no mana" :D First thing he should do, is concentrating on his last hits. He misses a lot. If he improves it, he needs nothing else to go up in the ranks.

she is difficult to play in early game (laning and farming). Thats why she needs a good team so she can shine late game. With Heart and Butterfly, she is almost impossible to kill + very annoying to deal with her aghs

Spectre is one of those heroes that sound very op. Stay alone and you take a lot of damage, stay together and you take a lot of aoe damage. All her damages are pure damage too, and she can stand beside you any time she wants. Good luck surviving long enough until you can kill her
