Not sure if you picked this up during the game grubby because you seemed confused, this is the "draft" mode you said you did not like. You can do draft pick in both unranked and ranked mode. (this is ranked draft mode)
@Soloadds
@Soloadds 6 ай бұрын
Why would he not like draft pick? That's confusing because draft pick is an essential part of the game both in unranked and ranked. He has played league for like 2 months and hasn't seen the champ select screen... how... that's very surprising to me.
@DivineBanana
@DivineBanana 6 ай бұрын
@@SoloaddsHe's still playing the champs one by one to learn them all. Makes way more sense to do a mode where you choose your champion before queing and where your champion can't get picked or banned if you are going in only wanting to play that one specific champion.
@jamerz44
@jamerz44 6 ай бұрын
@@Soloadds as he learns champs he has wanted to pre-select which one he'll play and quick queue allows for that. It's not like he doesn't get the concept of draft picking or is unaware of it considering it's default in both hots and dota, he just hadn't seen leagues iteration of it quite yet.

@@Soloadds It's less so that he's against the game mode and more so that there are far more smurfs playing draft pick than quickplay. this was super fun to watch, really good point there at the end about being death-averse. if you want to look up another mid laner Pekinwoof is a youtuber that does full-game commentaries (former academy player, challenger since it's existed i think) I would love to see you guys do something like this together bc he makes videos of explaining what he's doing while he's doing it in full-games so he's very practiced at it
@Nuvizzle

A lot of content creators like Pekin and Alois mainly upload content from smurf accounts which is IMO pretty pointless. There's about as much to learn watching a challenger player stomp diamond/low master players as there is watching a diamond player stomp in iron/bronze, their opponents make 87 mistakes per second and they simply capitalize on each one completely instinctually, most of the time they don't even realize they're doing something a player in that mmr bracket wouldn't think to do.

It's different for sure but I like the aspect of working as a team from minute one, being able to rotate and the diversity in which a hero can fulfill a role. I'm not taking about what is harder to play, easier to learn or whatever for everyone who thinks that this comment is meant in a bad way.

Watched this one on stream, POB's a great guest, so funny how differently he teaches the game to Alois. Only thing I'd note is that high elo looks a bit different in other regions where games, specially early on, tends to be more about forcing plays and fighting a bit more bloody than here over prio advantages since jungle/mid tend to group up and fight in a lot of matchups early on. NA is known as the most low aggression region of the big ones so if you climb high, you'll see much more chaos in your games. That being said, as long as your fundamentals are stronger than your opponent, playing this type of game will consistently climb you high, specially on control mages.

The problem with chat being off is that you kind of have to direct your team in low ELO, because most of them are headless goats jumping around aimlessly. A lot of the high ELO coaches and players haven't actually played below Masters in so many years that they have no idea wtf it's like down there. It's a weird situation tbh, because Pob's not entirely wrong about it. MOST of what people type in this game is vitriol and/or useless, but there's still some value to be had in trying to communicate with your team...and you can always just mute individuals if they respond negatively to communication. (You can mute pings too.)

Yeah the bounty system is absolute trash, one game i was down 60 cs, 3 kills, 5 assists and 2 levels in the jungle. But we took a good fight and I was able to cash in 2 small bounties, after which i was STILL behind in xp and items, but i now had a 200 bounty because of the gold swinging back to me, which they took so our good team play from behind was nullified and they just beat us with their wallets the rest of the game. It also feels terrible on the other side, if you are doing really well and have this big bounty. You are super strong so you want to go in and fight, but you have to play scared the whole time because giving a bounty once can possibly just loose the game. I understand Riot wanted more come back mechanics but honestly it feels terrible in solo queue. Like why even get ahead if you can just get behind, play for bounty and win anyway

In that case (the same as in that legue game), in hots someone of course must soak and you team must just to not fight, but if your team fight and die that would be the same as in legue. You must just believe your team will not do the sily things, lol. But in hots sometimes better to join the team, but it depends.

The biggest difference to league compared to dota to me, is it's more of a battler. That's why you get so many differing opinions cause how you farm, or play out the game matters, but not as much as other mobas. The way people battle it out always mixes up what happens in the game and makes it unpredictable how it will actually play out. Which makes the game more fun to me.

yea, i agree. I always said that League is like pool and Dota is like snooker. League is more straight forward, fast paced and action packed, while Dota is more strategic, much slower and it gives you more options. I mean current Dota map is probably twice as big as League's, so its normal for the players to run into each other less. I still cant decide which game I prefer to be honest

I like that even durring the throw Grubby relates it to dota and shows that its just an every moba sort of thing beyond region and game specific and even still people say "this is specifically a league thing" even here in the comments. Baffling. Random fight for no objective without a full team when a little behind happens in every game. At least it shows you can always comeback in league. The comeback system is a bit too strong if anything.

Grubby I know you won't even read this, but what Pobelter did was not exactly just being a death-averse gameplay, it's that he did his best to choose which fight is worth dying for to get the most buck for winning the game, rather than just the fight. He chose right for the entirety of this game, it's just that in League of Legends sometimes you also have to pay the price for the macro mistakes of your teammates. You are correct that the game is snowball-y but when you're in the later stages of the game and against evenly-skilled enemies, a good fight or pick is all it takes to just end the game and completely throw your leads out of the window because of death timers, and I'm pretty sure you know how this feels since you do play MOBA other than League. Welcome to League of Legends!

Loving the league content Grubby! Hope you start to grind league more seriously (if it's something you enjoy of course). I wanna see you hit at least Master/GrandMaster and I am 100% sure you can do it, worse players have reached higher ranks in the past, and you absorb information and improve really fast so I am certain you can achieve a much higher rank than you think. For now though, learn the basics of the champions, do some arams to practice teamfighting and dodging skillshots (always in 5v5 scenario facing all different kinds of champions, it will give u a good idea on positioning relative to what champions youre facing, how to safely CS/trade, how to bait out abilities etc). Good luck on this adventure, League is pretty fun if you focus on improving your OWN play and see what you could've done better both when you win and lose games. It may not necessarily have made a big difference in the game but it's really important to fix mistakes, so you can be more consistent over a bigger sample of games. Also, VOD review in this game and watch pro player VODS of champions you play and try and think what their thought process is can be really really helpful. Good luuuck~

He's already said he doesn't want to aim high on ranked because his main game is dota and hes committed to dota because hes learnt so much and hes immortal. I dont think he has the capacity to play two mobas seriously and to high ranks. But we'll see... I think he'll play more casually.

You need to check a pov game from Faker if you get the chance and think it makes for good content, Grubby. The game really looks different on his level.
