Sophia Loren, one of the last Hollywood living legends. What a beautiful woman. The first actor to win best actress Oscar for a non-english speaking role in 1960. Also, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau were best friends in real life. They did 10 movies together and are buried just 50 feet from each other.

there's something appropriately poetic about Jack and Walter being the ones to present Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with their first Oscar.

The Odd Couple was not the first collaboration for Walter and Jack. That honor goes to The Fortune Cookie in 1966. They made more than 8 films together. I will say that The Odd Couple was the best. I worked at the local little gas station for 3 and a half years. One of the funnest jobs I ever had. Every day, 3 times a day, all of the old coffee drinkers would come in and BS with each other for an hour or 2. You learned a lot by listening to these old men. A lot of it was bullshit but you could always tell what was real and what wasn’t. It sometimes makes me sad to think about those days, cuz I then remember that nearly all of those old men are gone now. Maybe a few still going.

Thank you for another fun reaction. A suggestion for another fun Walter Matthau movie is the comedy "The Bad News Bears" from 1976 ... where he plays the coach of a kid's somewhat inept baseball team. One more suggestion, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau's best collaboration ... "The Odd Couple" from 1968.

When you said Don Lemon, it took me a second to realize who you meant, and I haven't thought of Jack Lemmon in many years, so it took about 2-3 seconds for my brain to pull up his file. Oddly Walther Matthau's name popped up faster, but that might be because I "just accessed a related file" in my though process. Jack Lemmon is also quite enjoyable in "My Fellow Americans" with James Garner. Matthau and Lemmon have done so much together over their careers.

Jack Lemmon has played in several movies with a wide range of roles from comedic like this film to dramatic roles in serious movies. Here are a few of them: - The Odd Couple with Walter Matthau, mentioned several times in the comments. - The Apartment with Shirley MacLaine and Fred MacMurray - Save the Tiger (1973) with Jack Gilford who won best supporting actor Oscar while Lemmon won the Oscar for Best Actor - How to Murder Your Wife (1965), - The Out-of-Towners (1970), with Sandy Dennis - Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), with Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin - Days of Wine and Roses (1962) with Lee Remick in a very dramatic role where they play a couple dealing with alcolism ; they were both nominated for Oscars for their roles. - Mister Roberts (1955) with Henry Fonda, James Cagney and William Powell - It Should Happen to You (1954), with Judy Holiday and Peter Lawford - 12 Angry Men (1997) a remake of the earlier version which had Henry Fonda playing the lead role which Lemmon plays in this version. - The Fortune Cookie (1966) another film which paired Lemmon with Walter Matthau. Matthau won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. - Irma La Douce (1963) - The Great Race (1965) with Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood and Peter Falk (Colombo movies) in a wacky film about an early 20th century car race across Europe. - The China Syndrome (1979) with Jane Fonda and Michael Douglas - Missing (1982), a dramatic political drama where he played along side with Sissy Spacek, they were both nominated for Academy Awards for their roles. - JFK (1991) with Kevin Costner among many others in this Oliver Stone film. - The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) which was his last movie where he had a narrator’s role. It is a sports drama (golf) directed by Robert Redford and had Matt Damon, Charlize Theron and Will Smith in the cast.

If you want to see other end of the acting range of Jack Lemmon sometime, have a watch of Glengarry Glen Ross (1992).

Lemmon and Matthau’s chemistry in Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men is pure comedy gold. For fans of their work, it’s a nostalgic treat that rekindles the magic of their Odd Couple days. (If you haven’t seen The Odd Couple, it’s a classic worth checking out!)

Matthau & Lemmon are two of the greatest team ups in movies. You need to see their original partnerships in The Odd Couple and in The Fortune Cookie to really get the full experience.

My favorite people when i was little were my great-grandparents, i spent all of my childhood with them, as much as I could. They had 2 movies on vhs; this, and the 1st Home Alone. This is entirely my favorite movie, more so than the first one. Watching it makes me cry every time.

You might want to look into watching out to sea as well. Its from 1997 and has the same actors in it, as well as brent spiner. Sort of a similar concept except on a cruise ship

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are just comedy legends and certainly one of the best pairings on screen ever, same league as Martin & Lewis. Now you just have to watch The Odd Couple from 1968.

You did a reaction movie SOME LIKE IT HOT few days ago. One of the guys who were dressed up as women running from the mobsters I believe Daphne. The one that wasn’t with Marilyn Monroe. Anyway he is Jack Lemmon. Well Jack is John in this movie. Didn’t know if you knew that
