Excellent video! I knew as soon as the horseradish came out! I love using it! You edit such good videos. Every time I watch I get jealous. Was that beef, dry aged? Looked like it. Great video as usual. I know I need to comment more when I watch. Great job bud! Tasty eating!

Thank you, Kory. You were right… the horseradish was a nice touch, and held the rub nicely. I didn’t notice till I got home that the meat looked like it had been hanging for a bit. I think the butcher hooked me up with something special when I told them it would be featured in my You Tube video. Thanks for noticing the editing. I’m struggling with new software. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching.

You have an awesome set up, great pit! The horseradish binder sounds like it would be great on those. Kory is a great cook so I'm not surprised he had that idea. I might have to try that myself! Beautiful looking ribs. Please tell me how you save those for the next day and then warm back up to be just as good as when they are pulled off the smoker.

Good question, Ron. The key to reheating smoked meats is not letting them dry out. Wrap them up tightly in foil (foil pan, skillet, pouch, etc.) and set the oven to 275 - 325 deg. You don’t want to “cook” anymore, just get ‘em hot. Sometimes left over pork ribs will dry out a bit. I’ll cut them to fit in a covered, double boiler or steam basket and heat them that way. You don’t have to steam with water only… I’ll open a can of green beans and steam over them, letting the rib moisture drip into them. A one pot meal and both taste awesome! Thanks for watching and your question.

Those look amazing! Why do u choose the water pans over using the bottom of the smoker?
@GrumpusOnFire4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Judith. I use the disposable water pans just because they are convenient. My smoker is designed to hold water, but (for me) it is a lot of trouble draining and cleaning after the cook. Thanks for watching my videos… and keep the questions coming!

I have a Lone Star Grillz; the grill is designed to put water in the belly of the grill alone with a spout to let it out after the cook.
@GrumpusOnFire5 жыл бұрын
Mhol061720a… That is so true. I have been wanting to try this feature out. However, I have not filled her up with water (yet) simply because I don’t have a convenient way to drain it away after the cook (I'd have to carry away the buckets of water). I hope to have a more permanent parking place for the pit this summer. At that time, I’ll provide a way to empty the water. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

1am, I'm sitting here at 9:18pm in Australia, just bought my first smoker today, an offset, and I've just now had the first piece of smoked sausage I cooked earlier and omg, but that 1am deal is going to be true, the pork and lamb are taking their time, I've got a few pork ribs done different, and beef ribs injected with beer and a dark rub. I expect it'll be 1am before i'm slicing into thing haha, I've cut the beef ribs so the bones pop out and can slice like a brisket. Am enjoying your videos, cheers!

Why shiny side in on the foil? I’m sure that’s a dumb question. What is that cool gizmo u were able to attach to the bottle for spritzing? And why not water in your pit instead of the water pans? And finally, I love that u put the title of the music u play in your drop down box. Now i have to smoke me some beef ribs.
@GrumpusOnFire5 жыл бұрын
I usually try to remember to put the shiny side to the meat (I must have heard that somewhere years ago). I really don’t think it makes a difference... Reynolds Aluminum says it don’t make a difference… But I know people who swear it does! Anyway… you caught the Easter egg! The reason I have not used water in my pit is the inconvenience of the clean out for me. I haven‘t convinced myself it is worth the effort yet. I always put my music choices in the description, just to cover my tail against copywrite infringements. Let us all know how your ribs turn out! Thanks again for watching.

Hey Grumpus. Thanks for doing channel. In addition to your main content, I also like your music choices. How about an episode or information on how you clean and maintain that great pit of yours. Two questions: 1. What goes into your decision to use either the vertical or horizontal smoker? 2. Where does that big butt spatula come from? Thanks again!
@GrumpusOnFire5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Chew Wang… and thanks for noticing. I put a lot of effort in finding just the right music for my videos. I’ve had lots of requests to show a pit cleaning. I’ve got that on a back burner for now. There is really no rhyme or reason to using the vertical or horizontal to cook in. Usually I decide when I carry the meat out to the pit. One cooks equally as well as the other. I don’t have a preference at this point. The “BBQ Buttula” information is in the description under my video (Show More). I don’t make money from them, but tell ‘em Grumpus sent you just the same. I appreciate you checking out the channel.

Nice Ribs Grumpus Im curios why you wouldn't add water to the chamber of pit, instead of using water pans. Happy belated Labor Day.
@GrumpusOnFire5 жыл бұрын
That’s true John… my smoker is designed to allow smoking with water in the bottom. I think the water would do an awesome job of evening out the temperatures from one end to the other. In my case… I just don’t want to deal with the clean out. I don’t really have a place to dump the greasy water, and them buckets are a gonna be heavy! As I get older… I try to budget my energy better than when I was younger. Maybe someday I’ll try it, just for the video… but it ain’t very high on my episode list. 😉 As always… thanks for your support John

Hey BushiBato! Doin better, thanks. Yes, this was a more relaxed cook. I’m getting more comfortable with this pit. And, this was definitely a better cut of meat.
