Hi Guys . Thanks again for the show . You make my Sunday again . When I need a visa every 90 days , the last time was 2019 because I always stay for 7 months in Thailand and this for 20 years , I take my motorbike from Korat over buriram , Prasat to the border . From the border I take a taxi to Siem Reap for visiting Angkor wat , after about 1 week back to Thailand . I always like the trip to Cambodia sometimes I make the trip to Laos ( Vientiane ) for the visa too . Guys I wish you a nice Sunday and stay safe .

One warm night around 3AM in Ballard Community of Seattle in 1971 I was waiting in my car meeting up to go to coffee and a 1964 or so Ford wagon ran a stop light at high speed on 14 th NW. 150 Feet beyond the light was a boat ramp. I took off and raced around the corner expecting to hear a huge splash and bubbles coming from the water. Nothing! Not a ripple or sound. Many years later that car and driver was recovered in the middle of the ship canal and the guy I saw still siting in the seat. I saw a Skeleton with a black biker hat and leather jacket driving trying to get home. I think he'd been at a Tavern and thought he was on 15th NW going over the bridge.

Great episode again! I enjoy seeing the different locations around Thai Mueang. Steve, good luck with the visa run and the surgery when you return. I haven't have any experience with ghosts, but 18 years ago my then wife believed that a jealous neighbour had cursed her and the house. As a result we had to visit the local shaman to remove the curse, and then move to a new house. She absolutely refused to enter the old house again.

I am a fan of this channel and love all your posts. But I would just like to elaborate on the comment that was made on the documentary "Buffalo Girls" One of the girls in this film is Stamp Fairtex who now is an international superstar in the world of combat sports. She is making a very lucrative living for herself because of the dedication she put into the sport starting at 5 years old. There are many Thai fighters that now are world famous who have made quite a career for themselves because of the opportunity Muay Thai has provided for them. Just wanted to make that point. But again I am a big fan of Tim Newton and this channel. Keep of the good work, I always enjoy all your content and all the current news of what's happening in the magical country of Thailand. 🙏🙏❤

During the past 5 years they removed the tangled wires from a good stretch of Sukhumvit in central Bangkok. I had the electrical supply cables placed underground at my house in Sisaket province. You just have to use expensive cables designed to be underground’s.

Great conversation Steve & Tim. It always amazes me how the exposed blue PVC pipes inside nicely tiled restrooms or or elsewhere are not painted to blend in with the interior walls. It almost seems it’s against the law. And the bathroom faucets don’t seem to be fastened tightly onto the sink or pvc pipe underneath.

Especially as they are dead easy to paint. All hail Barnharn Silapa-Archa, the blue pipe honcho of Suphanburi! As a distinctly dodgy politician, his biggest achievement was probably blowing up a local fresh market with a massive firework display. On the positive side, he brought us an entire blue pipe industry.

Sorry to hear you will have inguinal hernia surgery. My brother had the mesh put in years ago, but it became detached. For the second operation, they actually sowed the muscles back together which is an older technique but becoming popular again.

Tim, Thai blue PVC pipe has very little UV protection in it. Paint any that is in the sun with white paint.

Yeah, outside pipe is sometimes colored gray. However, I think you will find that the outside pipes here that usually come over 4 inches, are thicker and in my experience have good solar durability. So keep those smaller blue pipes inside and/or in shade.

I went to Lumphini boxing arena (the original one) years ago. Being a foreigner, I had to pay the farang ticket price which was about $50 US at the time, compared to probably $3 for Thais. We tried to pay the local price, no go. They were firm. If it's on your bucket list, do it once. They make it prohibitively expensive for us to go regularly though. Don't expect to sit in any kind of VIP section for your expensive ticket. The spectacle and the boxing itself are pretty ok to watch, but I'm not into boxing at all either, so I'd probably never go see it again, especially if I had to pay that much for it. But you are really walking into a different world when you go there, you're not in Kansas any more.

Loved the 'twisted cables' and 'blue pipes' discussion. Having spent a lifetime in the electromechanical industry I have always been fascinated with the amazing cable clutter and blue pipe pavement trip hazards in Thailand 😂. I have seen it all including transformers on poles exploding and going on fire to individuals tripping over the dreaded pavement blue pipe sticking out from somewhere. Welcome to Thailand 😆

I had an inguinal hernia repair last year. Painful, no lifting more than 5 kgs for a month. Still feel twinges from the mesh insert. Steve should ask Thailand Rob about his three hernia repairs in Bangkok earlier this year.
