These boots are lovely. I bought similar mixing cups a couple of years ago and they’re the best. 💚🇦🇺

I love your tea light boots… I really like the uniqueness you bring to your pieces!! I think it’d look neat with the gold chrome marker around that part at the bottom, like you said… and then around the top of the circle, where the tea light sits?? Also, with the little gold n white ornament, that came from a matte mould… you could always spray it with a couple of coats of clear, high gloss varnish… depending on what it is you’re doing… I find this quicker and easier than epoxy?! I totally agree with you re pouring resin from up high… this certainly works with liquid silicone (which is where I believe the theory came from)… but, in my opinion, it does not help reduce bubbles in resin… it actually does quite the opposite, well it does for me anyway! I pour my resin down low, slowly… and, if pouring a deep mould, I let the resin flow onto a flat silicone stick and allow it to slowly run down into the mould. I’ve done a few pieces where I encase a dandelion in clear resin… and this method works really well for these. Lotsa Luv, Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺

I appreciate that not everything I make, fits with everyone, that is the beauty of trying different things, and knowing that there will be an audience for our work

The water trick works because of the metric system; 1g water=1mL=1cc(cubic cm). That will give you the volume of the mold. If you’re using resin mixed by weight, you’d have to figure out what that translates to in volume. A lot of manufacturers will have a resin calculator on their website, which makes things much easier. I’ll normally add at least 5-10ml extra to whatever volume I need to compensate for what remnants get left in the cup.

Thank you so much for explaining, I will have to do some more research into the resin calculators and the difference between volume and weight, and I appreciate the tip about the extra resin.

kind of wish you had used black instead of white

black would have made an interesting contrast - I will consider that in future videos - thank you for suggesting it
