I love this record so much. It belongs to a category of albums that I've had to stop listening for years because I literally stopped enjoying listening to, because I would abuse them so much. "Ritual de lo Habitual" by Jane's Addiction belongs there too. There comes a time when you love something so much, you start to become sick of it. And, man is "Vitalogy" one of my most listened to records of all time, without question. No weak songs. No filler. Just an absolutely marvelous experience from top to bottom. The way they still took chances at this time is just so exciting and unpredictable.

This vid totally overlooked how bad abbruzese was treated. Eddie would blow up and tantrum because Dave was featured on modern drummer and got endorsed by pro Mark and sabian. Dw who weren't endorsing artists at the time gave abbruzese free equipment. Eddie tried to have Dave's name removed off the song credits, took his images off the album re-releases and mtv unplugged art work and wouldn't allow for abbruzese to be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame. If only stone, Mike and Dave did their own thing we'd have had rock n roll perfection.

Just imagine you guys....imagine they were sellouts like everyone else. Imagine they made music videos, and did all those interviews and commercials and appearances. I dont know what verbs and adjectives to use, but this band was/is massive. Imagine how much more they would have been. Global. Universal. Astronomic.

I grew up obsessing over this band , absolutely adored them , saw them a half dozen times. That continued throughout my life right up until I was listing to Eddie on a Howard Stern interview in I think 2020 , maybe 21 where I literally had to turn it off. He’s political views are for the birds and I’ve had trouble listening to them ever since. Stern’s a leftist hypocrite too who I use to be a huge fan of. Very unfortunate. All that being said , the first 5 albums were gems of their time IMO.

Same here. They were actually the first band I heard trashing a President with (Bushleauger) in 2002. Not that I cared about what they believed but you shouldn’t sacrifice the music like so many do these days.I was like wth ? It was weird and that album just wasn’t worth it. It was like that’s all they cared about. You could tell someone was whispering in their ear. Until (Into the Wild) soundtrack came out. That was an epic album by Eddie. I have to say that.

They can ( musicians) have their political views and the media to represent their beliefs and that's fine weather you have the same beliefs or not has nothing to do with how I feel about the music created. BUT politicians pushing their religious beliefs has NO FUCKIN PLACE IN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY! And yes I'm an anti racist, Trump hating MUTHA FU&$ ER! Peace and love y'all 😘

Not a great album. Stone Gossard and Mike McCready made negative comments about it years after it was released especially the first single, Spin The Black Circle. There are still some high quality tracks (Corduroy in particular) but this was the album that Ed took over the band from Stone. Ed felt he was too good to be in a rock band.
