I definitely can relate. I am 45 and it took me a long time to realize that I had to step back and stop comparing myself to others. I do things that benefit my life and I’m less overwhelmed because of it now. Thanks for your story!!

Thank you for being so honest! Last year my husband found me hiding/crying in our closet. I felt like I was failing as a mother and wife. I was legit devastated over some dirty laundry and dishes. I can now clearly see how blessed we are as a family and that the vicious game of comparison can truly steal joy.

Aww many blessings to you .. I wish we talked more about those types of pressures, I think we'd all realize we're in a similar boat!

Expectations and Reality clashes all the time. We have to roll with it. We are sonalike, like you mentioned in a comment to me. As a work at home mom to a travelling husbabd, it can be tough. What has helped me is just take each day at a time, never compare myself to others or at least try not to 😉. My hope for you is that you find the joy in being you and having the discernment to make the right decisions for you

I can totally relate. I went from being an engineer to a stay at home, homeshooling mom. The adjustment was rough but it gets easier when you accept that you now have a "new normal". I wish you well on this journey.

Found this and it’s 2yrs old. That was so wise. I was at a shower where we had to share the best advice we got. Someone said they were told, “Don’t envy people until you can envy their entire lives.” Things can look good on the outside but everyone has struggles. The people you’re envying might have more baggage and stuff than you realize.

Good for you-i understand completely. Married 16 years this Dec, 5 children pretty much back to back and sahm all the while. You can realllllly put the pressure on YOURSELF to be perfect Patty! Esp. When you have a type A personality. And social media definitely doesn't help (former Pinterest addict, lol)! It took my son's behavior therapist to tell me all these things, that I already knew! I was competing with myself for no reason! So kudos to you for speaking on it and being in a better place!easier said than done, I know, BUT give yourself grace and BREATHE! Much respect!

I subscribed to you because you are a PA, and that's what I am aspiring to be. I thought it was cool that you had a career and real life but were doing youtube. This video is amazing and it just shows you that real life happens. And thats ok! As you said, be gracious to yourself and keep moving. I really like that!

I don't buy into the "picture perfect family," because what really happens when the cameras go off? You went to college to be a working black woman, so of course the transition to stay-at-home mom is unnatural to you. As you said, your husband still loves you just the way you are, and your children do too. I don't watch makeup tutorials, so that lets you know you are one of my fav KZbinrs. I envy that you stay in Alaska. It is such a beautiful state and I would love if you vlog its beauty. We love you Leeann (spell check) and the quality not quantity of your videos is what makes you stand apart from other KZbinrs. You are beautiful, your hair is beautiful, and you being a black, college-educated role model is most definetely beautiful. Stay blessed and be encouraged.

Omg. I can so identify with you! I think it’s this social media space. One can really get stressed out with goals. My channel almost drove me nuts 🥜 lol 😂 So much pressure.

Thank you for sharing that! I can relate in but I put too much pressure on myself and I currently don’t have the “career” job so I’m really down on myself but I know it’s coming but as they say we are our own worst critics and comparison is the thief of joy! We just gotta work on it daily and he the best us we can be!

Very good video. You definitely hit on points that I️ needed to hear also. We do tend to put a lot of pressure on ourselves and sometimes lose our way when things don’t go as planned.

I just wanted to give you a hug 🤗 I’m glad that you’re feeling better but please don’t put so much “perfection” on yourself. The only perfect person as long been gone & we are imperfectly perfect in his image. Take care of yourself first because if you don’t you can’t begin to care for the only ones who truly matter, your kids & hubby. XOXO from Hot, not so hot right now, Lanta. 🙂 PS I can’t get my hands on Fenty 420 to save my life!
