In your recent video where you tried on the newest Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks, I had major dejavu when you tried “Candied Rose”. I am one of your senior followers and that shade looked identical to “Persian Melon” in the late 50’s. An aunt gave it to me as a 6th grader. I hid it away in my purse and it went with me to school. On bathroom breaks I’d put on more😵‍💫. My male teacher took me aside and said that if I put on any more, my lips would fall off. Lesson learned, and I’m still learning from you, Emily. Christmas doesn’t have to be just Dec 25. Christmas for you can be Dec 31!!!! I try not to dwell on the fact on the actual day of Christmas I’m usually alone but I celebrate the day before when my family can see me. I make the day be whatever I want it to be. My family is currently sick with COVID after having some other brutal respiratory thing. I have been horribly sick for about two months now and our Christmas plans just got canceled. This video made me feel less alone - thank you for that. I have really been struggling mentally and emotionally with the way this season is going.

Emily I can relate in part to this Christmas not being exactly as we normally have in the past. Ours is due to financial reasons so we are spending Christmas playing games with the family instead of opening many presents!! I am excited for this opportunity to spend quality time with my family and thankful to have this Christmas with them. I have watched several of Risa’s because she has hooded eyes and she taught me several things but she’s pretty bold with the colors as where Emily’s are perfect for my taste. I wouldn’t even wear eyeshadow for 35 years because I thought what’s the point! Now, I’m buying every eyeshadow palette I can find (affordable ones) so I can practice. It’s hard getting it right though and takes me forever 😅!

My Snout plays fetch. We have tile floors and he loves the sound a metal bottle cap makes when it hits. And how he picks it up with his paws and brings it to his mouth is truly a sight to behold. We take our other cat, Sparky, to the local convenience store. Cats are more atune to us than we (mostly) realize. I love seeing those peeks into your relationships and how truly lovely you are. My husband is sick with the flu and We have two grandchildren 3 and 1 1/2 years old so our Christmas wasn’t as normal as we wanted it either but it really helps what you said, that it’s in the name of getting healthy that it will pass, it’s not your always situation and you hope that we can find blessings in our situation even if it’s not our normal or ideal Christmas. That just makes me look at this time so much more positive and makes me think that this won’t last forever and that it will pass. Thank you for such a good pep talk. Okay I actually LOVED the lip combo with the Mac lipglass! I think maybe the Revlon lip liner in nude or mauve would have suited the mauvey tones a little more than the cork lipliner, but it was actually very pretty!

My family is filled with first responders so for my whole life we’ve had extended holiday and birthday celebrations. If your Christmas this year doesn’t go traditional make a new celebration plan! From what I know of you and your family that you’ve generously shared throughout the years I believe that you will create something that’s filled with magic and heart memories to smile at down the road. Keep in mind being able to finish the cancer treatments is a huge blessing, even if it means physical distance for now. My grandmother had complications during her treatments caused by the chemo itself, and the doctor on duty pushed her out of the hospital too quickly instead of making sure she properly recovered enough to resume treatments. Rushing her out of there delayed her chemo far too long and reversed a lot of progress that was made. She made the decision to not continue chemo because even if she could get back on track, it wouldn't likely be enough. I learned a lot about how easy it is for chemo treatments to go wrong, and how much they really can compromise you even more than the cancer itself, which I knew but it's different actually experiencing it yourself. So try your best to focus on how finishing the treatments at all is a huge win 😊

Get a reusable bottle with a pump, like one you would use for hand soap, get enough of them for every sink, keep it filled with a decent brand of scent free body lotion, like Cetaphil, Eucerin, and so on, and place it beside your hand soap on the sink so you’re more likely to remember to use it. It has been a game changer for my hands and elbows!

Emily days are my favorite days. Praying for you and Bub to feel better. I am happy that your Dad's scans are looking good. I am a three time cancer survivor and I had to be admitted for my chemo for six months. No one could come and see me because my red and white cell count was down. It was so hard to be away from family, but I understand why it was needed. I know it is hard! I am praying for comfort through the Holidays. We love you!

For the lip combo I’m thinking you might like it better if you line with Cork lightly, without filling in. Then blend the liner to a soft definition and fill in with the lipstick and top with the gloss. I think you’ll like the tone much better:) Merry Christmas 🎄

Emily, get a good emollient handcream. Put on a thick coat just before you get into bed with some cotton gloves. Do this every night for a week and then 2 or 3 times a week. I have to say well done to the foundation. You looked so much better once you had it on even if you didn't feel better! Had my fingers crossed all through the mascara bit that you wouldn't sneeze until it was dry! Wishing you a peaceful Christmas. Hopefully everyone will be better by Monday and you'll be able to see the family. 😘
