@skyspectre89542 жыл бұрын
This is very encouraging! I've been flying a DJI Air 2s for about 3 months and really want to get into FPV (considering the Avata). I've been flying in Liftoff for about a week now and I'm nowhere near "ready", but I'm getting much more comfortable even after a couple of days. I can totally see why so many people who fly GPS camera drones end up crashing an FPV almost immediately because that's exactly what happened to me in the sim. The controls are SO different from a GPS drone. Having to coordinate yaw and roll together to turn takes a LOT of getting used to. I can't imagine trying to learn without a sim.
@TomDVisuals2 жыл бұрын
I have the Avata and it's a whole different beast compared to a gps drone, footage is incredible and learning to fly with liftoff is the best way to learn in my opinion!

Did really well! You'll get better as you get used to your drone and once you dial your tune in. One thing the sim doesn't do a great job of teaching you is how prop wash and ground effect affects the way a drone behaves irl

Mate! I am so happy I stumbled upon this video! I'm trying to get into the FPV hobby and I also was told to hit the simulator. I've got about 10 hours across Liftoff & VelociDrone but I feel my skills have improved considerably in such a short time! I definitely think getting a basic radio and grinding out the hours in the simulator is solid advice. Seeing your skills translate from the simulator with immediate results with confidence was excellent; I hope I can do the same.

That was pretty good for a first time out. I didn't spend too much time on a sim when I started and I was flying auto-level and yoyoing up and down trying to get throttle control. It was so frustrating. After I dedicated about 60 hours on Liftoff in Acro mode, I was able to fly decently. . But as you no doubt noticed, flying IRL isn't quite the same as the sim. Now you just have to learn how your quad responds to get a feel for it. Play with rates. And if you want to get into the weeds more, maybe adjust the tune.
@mrmalph12644 ай бұрын

TestFlight is truly the best tool to use in order to get familiar with piloting a quad. I suggest using a simulator with a real radio for at least 100 hours before even attempting to fly with a real freestyle FPV especially if you are on a budget. Greta job! You did amazing for a new beginner pilot.
@karansahni20662 жыл бұрын
That's awesome man! I've got around 50 hours of sim and about 2 IRL and def the sim helps a LOT! I master tricks on SIM before thinking about doing them IRL. If you're using the two-finger pinch grip on your controller sticks, letting go of the one that is responsible for YAW will help you keep a straight line for powerloops. In my case, its the index, thumb does the throttle. Good luck!

I'm in the stage that I've got my drone, glasses, batteries, and I am waiting for my transmitter. I hope I'll make it like you my friend.. you did it great!!! Thanks for the inspiration ;)

You are my motivation. I have enough money to buy an FPV now but I'm going to hold out until I can complete some races without fkn up. I am using the same Sim and also drl racing. I fly normal drones now but it's not even worth mentioning because it's night and day.
@Tomcat2_kanal4 ай бұрын
The most noticeable difference between the Liftoff and real drone I feel is the way how the drone falls. In the simulator it is more floaty falls with constant speed, no matter of its orientation. But the real drone falls much faster and accelerating during the fall, so you need much more throttle to stop it. Also if it falls flat, propellers are making the fall slower but if you fall sideways, it falls like a stone and speeding up. Actually the TRYP simulator is simulating this which makes it feel more like a real drone...I was also practicing in the Liftoff before flying with the real drone and when flying the real drone, I kissed the ground because I was used to the simulator and didn't use enough of the throttle at the end of the fall 😁
