why is the collector limpet controller necessary it wasn't covered in this portion?
@ManusDextra3 жыл бұрын
Whenever you destroy an enemy ship it drops materials you can use for engineering. If you don't want to scoop them up manually, you can use collector limpets to gather them for you. This is usually MUCH faster than trying to scoop them yourself! o7

@@aboshen No, if you just want to swap out one thing, the collector limpet controller is the thing to swap out. When you're only going to do combat, you could always remove the SRV hangar and add the controller back to collect drops from ships.

Haha, just went to HIP 16613, and had my first alien encounter around the SRV wreck. First when I was hanging above it, I could see something very unfamiliar scanning the surface coming from the Bug Killer towards the SRV. When it had scanned the wreck, it turned towards my and started making some pretty scary noises, so R-U-N-N-O-F-T. I came back and it was gone, so I landed, got in my own SRV, scanned and scavenged, and returned to ship. When I lifted off, there it was again, coming straight at me and making horrible noises. It got MUCH closer this time, and started beaming something at me but I managed to run away again. Awesome, awesome experience :D

damn where do you store all this stuff when you go around from places to places gathering materials? I never did this part of the game, all ive done so far is shooting at other ships doing bounties and missions, so i don't know how it works. Does the stuff you store follows you ? or you have to keep going back to where you stored it in order to access it?

You can also collect manufactured mats from defeated ships after combat and from "high grade emissions" in a lot of systems around the bubble. You can scoop them manually or use collector limpets--the Cobra 3 is great for this. This is how I get most of my materials! o7

How much material do we farm for in Day's Hope? I've been on it for hours and barely have any of the mats at a quarter filled in my SRV. Sorry for all the questions.
@ManusDextra3 жыл бұрын
Good question! Unfortunately, the answer is, "farm as much as you can stand!" You'll get such a variety of materials that it will be extremely difficult to max out storage. So, don't stress over that. If you've been doing it for hours, you probably have enough to do some EASY!!1! Engineering already. Remember, you can collect data & manufactured materials as mission rewards, and you can collect manufactured materials while bounty hunting. This is why I built the Cobra with a cargo rack and a collector limpet controller. The main point of visiting these sites is to get a stock of materials built up. Then you can maintain your supply with mission rewards & collecting mats while hunting. o7
