GS300 Revival - My First Engine Rebuild

Lots of trial and error, blood sweat and tears, constant forum searches, watching KZbin videos, putting together and pulling apart, but the end result was so worth it. so happy to have this thing running again
-ARP head studs
-Supra Head Gasket
-Real Street rod & main bearings
-Evergreen piston rings
-All new seals

Hey man, I happen to have the exact same model of gs300, same year, platinum edition as well. I saw your video of code p1755 which I also have, i was wondering if your car would have very rough shifts when driving on a cold start.

When I'd clear the code and drive it, it would shift very rough until the code came back on

If you fixed the rough shifting, what did you end up doing to fix it?

@@beiyzzz4851 I ended up swapping the ECU because my ECU was bad causing it to throw the p1755 code, before I did that I tried swapping a trans solenoid and made no difference. After I swapped the ECU it shifted fine, probably should check your trans fluid first and make sure it's red and not black, and make sure it doesn't smell burnt

@@ricerintegra2660 Ohh okay, Yeah I checked the fluid and it looks brand new, it's that perfect pink color and doesn't smell burnt, Im hoping it's the same fix you had,

@@beiyzzz4851 its possible the ECU could be bad then, I've heard these transmissions are pretty durable so for a solenoid to go bad would be weird, when I swapped the ECU, the P1755 went right away, 2 years later and still haven't had it come back

@@MRMAN-wb1tv haven't gotten to it yet, eventually I will tear it apart and check out the rings and bearings and such, I plan to rebuild that one as well and keep it as a spare

Ey bro on your es300 how did you lower the back cause I bought tube coilovers but on the rear one it has 3 bolts and the car only has two holes

There's 3 holes for the top hat, gotta take out the back part of the backseat and take out the rear deck cover and the top hat bolts will be right there. If I can find a link to a KZbin video to show where the bolts are, I'll post it in here

It's still in good shape, I do plan to change it out anyway though due to what I've heard about them separating, wanted to make sure she ran first
