All very good, can we have 2 green and 1 red LED type lights on the display to verify p-e, p-n, polarity for easier verification at a distance like on the Kewtech KT42 loop tester. That would be a great improvement. Thankyou

Works on the Mft1731 as well, not sure what extra features the 1741 has over the 1731. Nice video I hadn't noticed that feature

So when on type A setting in auto RCD test mode, does the MFT do twice as many tests as in AC mode? How else would the MFT verify that the RCD trips on both pulsating DC and AC earth faults?
@GSHElectrical4 жыл бұрын
If you do the auto test on AC and the A type RCD setting you have covered all tests on an A type RCD 👍 (10 tests)

The move toward type A & B RCDs begs the questions: what type of residual current protection is being offered on RCBOs? How many different combinations of protection will there have to be on various RCBOs when factoring in the types B & C overcurrent protection with the AC, A & B earth fault protection? 😵
@GSHElectrical5 жыл бұрын
Hi. RCBO’s are generally A Type. Have a look on my Instagram page for information GSH_Electrical 👍. Thanks Gaz

My Megger is count 30 seconds before tripping the RCD and it only give 130 ms for every rcbo , has this happened to anyone?
@ashmanelectricalservices43185 жыл бұрын
I would say the auto start RCD function is best for use where using the 3 test probes and pressing the start button could prove difficult, for example at a ceiling pendant or on a floating connection of a decorative light. Or you could just do it at the consumer unit 😉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYW0p6uHlKx5ZsU

Interesting, we are permitted from using type ac all together for domestic dwellings.
