This will come in handy for running in sockets for domestic customers.

I have just done mine AM2S, Double set from the Programmer and the centre of the through box was 500mm away from the edge of the programmer/ 2 channel timer. definitely a lot easier then a straight length

I stayed up all night watching your video on how to do the conduit all in one piece and come to do the AM2s and saw the through box and my head just fell off 😂 still passed though 👌

Hi Gary, does the through box and the conduit need to be tight at the threads? I have to leave them a bit lose if i want it to face the right direction..if I tighten them...they are on diffrent angles and the box and conduits don't sit square. Thanks to the video.
@GSHElectrical Жыл бұрын
In the correct position and tight. Gaz
@krishath7085 Жыл бұрын
@GSH Electrical Thank you. That is tough. Must be some technique to make it easier. Else it seems I have to guess and tap the tight amount of threads to get the right position and tightness.

was just thinking, doesnt seem much easier. i'd rather get the measurements correct and do it in one

Interesting, why the change? The cynic in me says NET have seen a decline in student/apprentice skills and so going it in parts makes it easier with the whole alignment side of things. It *could* be a more realistic reflection of worksite (individual sections with couplers/through boxes but I dunno. I still can't understand the reasoning for diluting AM2 into AM2, AM2E and AM2S, is it not better to have been taught containment in the various guises and then never use it or never have it at all? From a training sector aspect it's easy money but it's diluting and de-skilling, and we wonder new builds are so shonkey.

Its because someone put the actual set and what it links to online a few months back on you tube, so they had to change it up .
@O.i52 жыл бұрын
Its not realistic at all in the majority of electrical work, containments are mainly used in commercial which is a much smaller market than houses in which metal conduit and such is not used or atleast not manipulated so is just a useless task in the am2, if you go into commercial after your am2 then you can learn that stuff on the go just like any electrician, you never stop learning new things in this trade

The part P scammers (what's left of them) want the AM2 if you join as a new customer now, so a time served domestic spark needs to mess about with steel conduit and DOL starters etc just to be able to wire a couple of sockets in someone's shoe box extension, madness.

I assume they were notching up to many fails because even a basic piece like that is beyond the capabilities of an awful lot of sparks. I hoped the new one would raise standards but they ended up dumbing it down again..

Yeah. I mean it's not that hard of a Bend to do. I was shown how to do it as a first year and after about 4 goes I got it down. The problem is lads just aren't being given the time to practice it on site.
