GSP is the biggest pussy that picked his fights wisely. He never had a McGregor attitude, he chose easy fights like Jake shield instead of trying to do a super fight with Anderson. Only now when McGregor did it does he want to come back and he beat Bisping (trash) and instantly vacated the belt lol. Don’t compare his opponents compared to Jones, Jon jones fought against much more prolific fighters then GSP.

anybody who has been in serious fight in the street. not just professionals. know what GSP is saying about being "afraid". some call it nerves, butterflies, jitters ,etc. all the same. any fighter who says otherwise is a liar. some just hide it better. like Conor. he is so freaking composed its disturbing. especially before Aldo and Diaz rematch.
@too_sturdy6 жыл бұрын
and I'm taking in reference to the seconds or minutes before the bell rings. not for the months leading up. but once the first punch lands.. whether on you or your opponent. its a beautiful rush of adrenaline nobody except who has been in the moment can describe. all jitters are gone and it's on. bottom line
@shtroizn6 жыл бұрын
Very true - it isn't just the fight itself - the very thought of violence, certainly violence in which you yourself are susceptible to - will cause most people jitters and an adrenaline rush. I believe some fighters are immune to this but the majority probably are not.
@Vastspartan6 жыл бұрын
They arent immunte to it. Fighters either embrace it, supress or it envolopes their minds. GSP has been scared of the fight but once he starts walking out the fear is gone.

kevin hickin What do you mean by that?
@dyschromotopia6 жыл бұрын
i mean that gsp is a wrestler & that he would favour that skill set when considering the probable outcome. i agree that wrestling is the underpinning discipline in mma, as gsp clearly understands, but mma fights end quickly when a significant punch lands & against a pure striker, wrestlers are the most vulnerable. Connor has agreed to this fight, with a relatively small camp & after such a significant lay off, because it is a calculated risk. i hope khabib is practising head movement & raising that right hand that is always so, alarmingly low.
@vidanmai1666 жыл бұрын
kevin hickin That is true but in this case GSP predicts by looking at their record and dominance. Wrestlers arent the most vulnerable lol. If we look at it, its either if Conor is lucky enough to knock Khabib out, but if Khabib takes down Conor like he has done with everyone else, then Khabib will win. Thats why this match is exciting but the odds are for Khabib because Khabib has more ways to win than just a striker's chance.

I love Conor's trashtalking, but I love the way everything just brushes off GSP's skin ! We might even see GSP getting into Conor's head just by not letting Conor in his head ! Although I think the fight with more potential for great martial arts is GSP - Khabib ! They are so evenly matched non ?
@jean-claudefrancoisbaroudd7306 жыл бұрын
But it seems to me that GSP's striking is more of a way to set up takedowns non ? But you're absolutely spot on ! I want Conor to win vs Khabib, but I would prefer to see Khabib vs Georges rather Conor vs Georges, Georges is too big for Conor..
@jean-claudefrancoisbaroudd7306 жыл бұрын
Yes ! I miss his fancy kicks, grapple a little, throw in a few elbows or something, kind of like a mini CroCop vs Gonzaga 2 ! But it seems to be a trend at the moment, a lot of fighters seem to be head hunting, not bothering with leg kicks or body kicks/shots.. I blame the judges for that, somehow a leg kick that isn't too clean but still stings, somewhat takes away your opponent's ability to move, scores less than a takedown that only results in 45s of sitting on your opponent whilst landing a few half arsed punches to the head... I have Khabib winning too, he's just too ruthless, hopefully by decision though.. Like a close decision, Conor needs some confidence building at the moment..
@kovenmaitreya71846 жыл бұрын
Very evenly matched. That's the real championship fight in my mind. I'm really have no clue who would win that one.
@leonardobrodsky65476 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% with the legendary GSP. Khabib has the tools to win the fight, but those fast, explosive and precise shots from Connor could catch Khabib on the way in. Specially since Khabib is often careless when shortening the distance. My money goes to Khabib winning, and then it’s GSP vs Khabib. Meanwhile they match Connor vs Ferguson and both the winners face each other. It’d be an extremely technical fight in GSP vs Khabib (GSP with better stand up skills and double legs, while Khabib with more variety in takedowns, better clinch work and top positioning). While Connor vs Ferguson would be a stand up show, testing Connor’s chin for the first time (since Ferguson has proven to have an Iron chin) having him with better kicks and counters, while Ferguson having more awkward angles and slick submissions. Gotta love these possibilities right? BTW, gotta love GSP even more. Probably the only guy from his era who has always evolved along with the sport, and who’s fighting IQ is unmatchable. RESPECT. Number 3 P4P of all times (gotta put him behind Silva and Jones).

Colitis was just excuse to vacate MW title and lose weight without looking like an asshole for messing up the division and without seeming like he is begging Conor for a fight. Plain and simple. How the fuck did he get colitis from 'forced eating to fight at Middleweight' bullshit.

This guy is clearly phenomenal. 2nd favourite after Khabib.

No doubt! Right? I'm surprised Conor even accepted this fight. They must be paying him a lot. But if you think about it, it's really not that bad of a deal for Connor. He gets paid another life-changing payday, and there is no shame in losing to Khabib. Khabib destroys everybody, so why be ashamed if you lose? Khabib is a fucking beast and everyone knows it. Conor walks away with another how many million for getting beat by someone who beats everybody, with a small chance of actually connecting a good left and winning(not likely, but possible.) Plus, Conor has already lost several times, and his fans still love him. So, it is a good deal for Conor all around. But, he is going to get rag-dolled, nonetheless.

eh, they are somewhat the same, both fall under the "wrestlers/grapplers with decent striking and a great ground and pound category game." But Alvarez won via knockout against RDA whereas Khabib won via takedown.

Yes Conor is a good striker, but I feel if he did win the first. Khabib would tear him apart in the 2nd fight. If I was to go to war and had to choose a fighting partner, I would pefer Khabib.
