Yamaha has gottin a lot of people under estimating them for years.. I had an 1982 1100 maxim and it surprised allot of people with newer sports bikes.. Yamaha has always been one of the best riding bikes. I've had IT's, TT's. YZ's and the 1100 .. I loved them all.. Great video.

Sonic was a British moto-journalist for Superbike Magazine. Dont know if he is still testing bikes, but he was pretty fast. Seems like a good name for the R-1. Go-em Chris !.

He was very likely killed in Mosul, Iraq after doing videos for Isis, probably under duress. Real name was John Cantlie. there is a lot of information on line about it. I used to have a Superbike t shirt with him wheelying a bike which was pretty cool. Sad he ended up as he did.

Brightness and style of the light should be adjustable. You can have it flash or stay on for a range of rpms. Mine is at full brightness and stays on for 1500 rpms so I don't miss it, and it comes on a little early to account for my reaction time.

I've been saying for years now, it's not the bike, it's the rider mod 🤷🏾‍♂️. Zuk nation don't like 2 believe that because of brother Chris but 2 equally prepared gsxr's could have the same exact things done 2 them by Chris himself & put him on 1 of the bikes against a rider of just good skill & 3 outta 5 Chris will win. It doesn't matter if it's kawasaki or Zuk or Yamaha or BMW. Chris's ability on the tree & his preparation & the pressure he's gonna bring is difficult 4 just the average rider 2 contend wit. There are a lot of good riders out here but only a handful of great riders. No offense Zuk nation. Any bike can be made great but great riders are groomed from talent & time.

I fell in love with my 07' R1 too years ago.... until it started blowing valve guides every 5k mi. or so. That and my YZ250, I experinced BY FAR the most critical engind failures riding. Hopefully they worked out their novel engine design issues by now, but for some reason I doubt it.
