How did you get the pins into the white powder coated links with damage?

I can’t give away my technical secrets but inserting the pins on these type of chains does not disturb the powder coat. I’ve done a lot of them. You have to be careful with Izumi chains that have peened over pin ends as they elongate the holes and cause damage. If you want a GT chain restored hit me up on the BMXMUSEUM.

Nice resto on your chain would it be easier to restore the chain as is and not pull it apart like you did just might need tonne of taping up Hiw come you only paint one side of.the link bubble

Hi. Thanks for the compliment. You can only do it right by pulling it apart. Especially if the chain is very rusted. As for the links being powder coated or painted on one side only that’s because the original is the same way. Most if not all chains are only painted on the outside links. It also helps it rotate on the inner link. I hope that helps. Have a great day!
