It was interesting to see how a casting irregularity that close to the carb could make a difference even with a carb that has smaller butterflies , you'd think the air would just flow past there but clearly there is something going on , good to know !

Everyone especially the Chinese have copied Edelbrocks design. I have a Blueprint sbf dual plane. I figured if they had it on a 415hp 347 it would work okay on warmed up 289 with AFR heads. It cost $199 with Edelbrock gaskets and new bolts. I port matched and bolted it on. Haven't ran it yet. Casting pleasantly surprised me, it was very good quality.

Good video, thanks 👍 I also had a head that liked the flowball on the floor. Grinding some dimples in the floor didnt help much, but i thought id drill a hole in the manifold and install a bolt through. Grude, but hey it might work fine and no one will see it under the manifold! 😂 -juhana

BluePrint claims to design their own heads, blocks and intakes and that they cast and machine everything in their Nebraska facility. it is amazingly similar to the Edelbrock, though.

IMO, if that intake is going on a 302 cube engine with automatic trans, then definitely not worth cost to port the intake, and personally I would make sure the plenums are fully divided for full 180* function. If going on something around 350 cubes or larger and manual trans, then yes on the porting, and at least some modifications around the plenum area. With something in the 370 to 400 cube range I would go for full porting of the intake and custom spacer matched to a modified plenum.

Okay so i built u a 347 in DYNO Sim 6 with your ported heads and a 238*/244* @ 0.050" x 0.544" lift cam , 10.5:1 comp AND i ran it in DRAG sim 5 in a 1987 Mustang Fox body with 5 spd gearbox & 3.54 gears ... etc etc ...... Motor makes 465 Hp @ 6000 rpm / 454 ft.lbs @ 5000 rpm .. and .. the car runs 11.683 @ 123.3 mph ... with conservative driving style (assuming a BW T-5 tranny) , not to shabby !
@servediocylinderheadsАй бұрын
@@luckyPiston That looks pretty close. T5 won't hold up. Sticky tires needed. 123 mph looks right but should be less time unless launching is an issue.
@andrewburlock2653Ай бұрын
@@servediocylinderheads Hi Charlie. Everyone says a T5 wont hold up but I have an 89 notch supercharged 331. On slicks easy launch, granny shifting I run 10.93 @ 131 mph with the stock T5 the car was built with. I know I'm on borrowed time though. The new engine is going to be a large bore 8.2 deck 347 with a larger supercharger and a solid roller. I don't think the T5 will like that. Andrew
