GT7 (PSVR2) Worst Matchmaking! // Back to "A" Rated? // No Meta Car for Me! - In this video I will be discussing my short lived journey back to a Driver Rating "B" and how that has been. I will also be going over some tips to hopefully help you finish better in Gran Turismo Daily Races and also be discussing why I don't care what the Meta car is and I just do my own thing. Of course you will be watching gameplay from PSVR2 which is how I always race in Gran Turismo 7.

Excellent commentary CAS. Appreciate your words of wisdom. I've got a long ways to go, and now starting another learning curve, by finally getting a rig together..but I know it will make the VR experience even better. I think my main problem advancing is trying to keep it TOO real..I've spent plenty of time on track, on both motorcycle, and in car IRL, and you don't just dive bomb like so many of the guys do..(whether its turn 1 or not). I try to "drive" like I'm in a real car, on a real track..mostly to my detriment, but when I do run against someone that gives space, and drives clean its a fun race! You have a Merry Christmas!

I have some videos covering what I race on. I don't have anything fancy. It's a Thrustmaster T-GT II wheel base with an open wheel and a Thrustmaster T-LCM Load Cell Pedals. It's hooked up on a wheel and pedal stand.

Great video CAS. Ticket Bait, the A lobbies have their fair share of bad drivers, aggressive drivers, and i even have a guy trolling me now. He knows i currently use controller and talks crap every time we race now, and this is an A and A+ lobby... Just do the best you can and race clean, i can honestly say there are more good sports and drivers than the bad thankfully. Welcome back to A CAS,, and nice new quali time (faster by a good margin than this video) in the Porsche, you got me by .100 (i really need that wheel soon).

@@thecasualracinggamer I've run about 100 laps since then and the best I can do now is 1.27.500 ish.... I was watching another KZbinr who's an absolute expert in this game and he essentially explained that on controller you can't take that last turn as sharp and you're going to lose time by that virtue but I mean of course he gets a 1.26 with a controller lol... Be that as it may I'm really seriously now on a mission to just change over to a steering wheel I think it's time I think I'm going to have a much better gaming experience. Have a fantastic Christmas with your family CAS. Maybe you run some lobbies during the Xmas break????

Congrat on returning to A!! You've inspired me to get into some dailies to try and move from a C to a B. That P2 driver on turn 1 probably has the belief that if he can just get in front of everyone, he'll stay ahead and not have to deal with anyone else for the rest of the race.

Your comment on VR driving is spot on. The Porsche with the RPM lights in your peripheral vision make it easy to determine the correct shift points. The Ford GT is bad for the A Pillar and roll cage for visibility and hard to get the shift spot on. Great content and attitude, can you send a transfusion to me 🖖🇨🇦🏁

Congrats. Is my first week in A rating. Was top tier B at this race and now Midpack. I'm using brake bias 5 to the rear, what brake bias are you using at this track?

I think it's awesome when you're able to get comfortable in a car that isn't meta and then give the players who only use the meta cars a run for their money! Question: Do you use the paddle shifters because it's faster than automatic or just because you enjoy it more? I'd be curious to see you to a lap time comparison automatic VS manual...

You should be faster using manual once you get the hang of it. You can really use it to manipulate the car in ways automatic wont.

When the game was broke and I got bumped from be all the way to D but I still put up b-level times so they put you in those lobbies based on your times

That's just wrong, but the next race as you saw, they did put me in a full B lobby and got pole. So, I have no idea what the game is thinking.

In the GT with a Porsche in front it is you are either making the move in T1, or are so close its hard to get the exit you need. They are also going to be under pressure by the back straight from the Porsche behind. If you don't like the GT when it isn't the meta, this car can be hard to make the right move in.

If the GT stays with me, he overtakes me at the straight without a problem. Instead, he forced a move in T1 allowing the cars behind to catch up more and lucky for me, kept him busy and tied up.

A higher S rating will often place you in a higher rated lobby, imo, S rating is the most important rating, as it places you with cleaner drivers for your level I don't care about meta either, it is more fun to experiment, and find a car that is fun to drive consistently

I have an S safety but only a D rated driver . I wish I got placed with cleaner divers more often .get more C rated but thier safety rating is B or worse, so the 5 or 6 of us with a clean record get punted quite often and end up at the back together

It looks to me like he tried to go for the pass, it didn't quite work, there was contact and he realized his mistake and let you keep going. Most drivers would have just pushed past you.

Nope. In "A" lobbies, instead of 1 car trying to win on T1, you have everyone trying to win. 🤣 In truth though, it really depends, but overall A is not necessarily cleaner then mid B to high B.

I also hate the matchmaking. I am faster than most B drivers, can barely keep up with A drivers, but am so off the pace of A+. I constantly get placed in A+/A lobbies and can't even get into the top 10. Effing demoralizing.

Agree. A+ drivers should not be matched up with lower grade A drivers. They should be with top level A.

The issue is that in North America, often times there just aren't enough people playing so you get these lobbies with wide ranging DR. If you watch EMEA lobbies they don't have that same issue.

I gave up this week on this race I went from B to C because of this race I qualified was in P2 and kept getting punted on turn 1 to the point that I would hit the wall and get a penalty and everyone just kept trying to win the race on lap 1 so I just gave up. Went to race C and enjoyed racing the same race over and over in different cars and went back to B the best part was I kept winning with different cars 1st place in the AMG the Silvia the Mazda the Jaguar was actually my favorite. 2nd place in the mustang and the jag. Was just having fun driving all cars available just to feel like a different challenge and race every time. It’s a shame that the game is not about enjoying racing competitively for most it’s about winning first by using the Meta car I had a Guy rage quit while he was in the Meta car because I was 2 sec ahead of him on the last lap. 2nd place is great why would you be upset over it was my thought. Then I realized some people only want the first place and I feel bad for them they sucked out there own enjoyment out of the game

My favorite race I ever had on GT7 was a daily race it was GR.4 this guy and I went 3 laps passing each other he would be better than me on the first half of the lap and I was faster in the second half. There was small amounts of door banging but nothing malicious just hard racing I had a smile on my face the whole way to the finish line we battled so hard for 11th PLACE. Maybe we screwed each other over because we battled so hard we lost so much time but it was so much fun I did not want the race to end. Unfortunately once the race ended he sent a message saying thanks for the race I wanted to invite him as a friend but he left the lobby I kept getting on the daily race hoping I would see him again but I haven’t. I guess not everybody sees this as what you yourself have said in another one of your videos this isn’t real it’s just a game. For some they take Ricky Bobby too serious, “if you ain’t first you’re last” it’s a shame really to think people play a game to not have fun.

But the meta IS the Ford GT and Porsche 911 RSR lol. I'm using the Porsche too. It's pretty dang fun to drive! I'm not a meta car driver either. I typically stick with what I'm good with. But with that being said, I did get the Porsche as I like Porsche's. Turned out to be a good investment. Don't care for the land boat that is the Ford GT. It's fast in a straight line but turning, heh yeah.

I wouldn't even know of the Porsche is the Meta car this week as I use it every week. It's one of the cars I am most comfortable driving in so don't car where it's ranking for the week. For Gr3 and Gr4, I'm using the Porsche, McClaren and Ferrari usually. They have good handling and feel good in VR. That's what matters to me, and unless I have the fastest global ranking for the car I am using (which I never will), I know I can always go faster than where I'm at.

I wish I could sell cars but alas PD has locked that behind some level requirement. I'm at level 30. Taking ages to get to 50 so I can do engine swaps. The Porsche is a meta car in that it's easy to drive, it's stable and responds well so people feel comfortable pushing it to the limit. It is a very good car.

@Empire_of_Ravens So I bought the Ford GT test spec 2 and got the same lap times but much harder to control lol. I tried it with tc off too. Swapped back to the Porsche. Tried real hard to get faster than 1.31. Turned off tc and put brake bias to +1 and shaved off a second. The fastest I could do was a 1.30. I watched a KZbinr drive the same car and track. And I tried to mimic their driving style, lines, braking zones, and gears on corner exit. Doing that I was able to shave off 1 second.

There are about 90 turns in this combo. As long as you are on the racing line and close to p1 there’s no reason to “attack” T1. High risk of an incident which will bring the cars behind in. Which is exactly what happened in this example.

@@thecasualracinggamer A different drive with a Porsche would do a better job on the first turn. The Ford has low acceleration. 6 laps put pressure in everyone, you can't waste time behind a slow guy. As a result, you see non sense moves
