Saddest thing about this mission is that Mikhail was never a bad guy, he just lost his mind with so many drugs and in the end he's right about the sense of achieving the american dream. Sums up the entire game.

Yup, this should have been an alternative choice to this mission, decide to spare Mikhail's life. Some parts of the game should had alternatives that could have influence a lot on the end of the storyline. Like when you have to kill Anthony cause he was an informant, i wish i could let him live so Pegorino would have fall and Kate would be alive.

People forget, no matter how right Mikhail was about Dimitri, he was still a delusional monster that reacted violently to everything. Niko was between a rock an a hard place. He kills Faustin only to be betrayed by Dimitri later on and basically be on the run the whole game. But sparing Faustin and killing Dimitri would likely have gotten Niko killed or in Jails simply by how eratic Mikhail acted and responded to events.

Faustin was no saint (no one in this game is) but he was possibly the best ally Niko had who shouldn't have died

Technically, Mikhail was right, him and Ray are some of the only characters in the game that doesn't compromise his own beliefs and allies in order to maximize a profit. As he puts it, he was a man of convictions. Mikhail was never greedy, he ran a crime business and knew his limits. Ray was definitely a greedy person, but he never betrayed anyone and stuck by his word. They were both victims of the system, not symptoms.

The name of this mission is a direct reference to the novel "The Master and Margarita" which is about the devil visiting the soviet union. Also I find it coincidental Faustin is very similar to Faust; which is a legend about a man making a deal with the devil.
