thinking about buying, how much fps does the volumetric clouds take?

You can expect approximately an 8% FPS drop when using Chromatix along with optional volumetric shaders, raindrops, roads, vegetation, and streetlights. If performance is a priority, I would recomend against using an ENB, as it can further impact performance.

It literally drops like 5 fps. Soo much better than nve and quant v which drops like 20 or 30 fps.
