If both pilots have the same skill set, it will come down to who have the better aircraft which is the pyro, that's the whole point of this video, ppl in the pyro will have a better chance at destroying you than you do them, but now if a noob flus the pyro vs a skilled pilot in a hydra then of course the skilled pilot will win.

Lets get this right people. If a plane has a higher top speed and a better turning radius, then it is the better plane for dog-fighting. Explosive cannons mean NOTHING if you can't hit your target with them. Pyro is better than Lazer for DOGFIGHTS. Obviously for air to ground combat, the lazer/hydra is better, but we're talking about PLANE VS PLANE here. Also, just because you might've taken out other pyros while flying a lazer does not automatically mean the Lazer is better. In my experience this has been the case too, and I think this is because most people who fly pyros aren't experienced pilots and only own the plane because it looks cool or has the highest top speed. You can tell when someone is an experienced pilot or not. For example, if you can take someone down with homing missiles, then that right there proves they're not an experienced pilot unless, however, you are out maneuvering, say, a lazer, and get right on his tail (and i mean insanely close) and start barraging him with missiles.

One issue that was not taken into account is the possibility that some of these planes may have a wider turn radius, but go through their turn faster. I think that aspect may have a very large impact on how they stack up against each other.

My first time flying a Pyro I knew it was king. That kind of movement capability is properly dangerous in a dog fight, regardless of the machine guns being as powerful as explosive cannons or not

I own the Hydra, Roge, and the Pyro. Each one has its uses. The Hydra is an awesome taxi for getting across the map and not having to find a place to land. The Roge is good at dog fighting and the bombs are fun. The Pyro I have gotten really good at taking out other jets and even doing some bounty hunting with it. Each has their use. It also depends of the skill of the pilot. None of them are bad. Just made for different jobs.

The best fighter overall has to be the Lazer. It can dogfight most other jets, and it destroys ground targets like crazy. It’s the best overall, even against a b11, if the Lazer knows how to accelerate at the right times, the b11 is done.

Also, before smugglers run was released, I was the best HYDRA shooter but today, I'm still the best hyrda and the pyro. Dat Saintsfan Interesting. But keep in mind, the turning upgrades can’t be put onto the hydra and can on the pyro. Although players may not like the final turning upgrade(because it’s “too fast”). But overall, this may have just changed my mind, I’m not much of a griefer (ok, sometimes, but like 80% of the time I’m minding my own business) I may get the pyro just for the turning speed/turning, so I can “out fly” a hydra, also depends on the pilot ;)

Honestly it is down to the pilot! I can take out a pyro with a hydra, a hydra out with a rouge, a starling out with a b11! Tbh I can take most things out with a hydra, I’ve even took out some deluxo’s and oppressor mk2’s with the thing. It’s so easy to fly, especially using the VTOL capabilities in dogfights, it helps!

When in VTOL, you become a sitting duck for homing missiles. If I’m in my Pyro, I’ll dive down beneath you, and either stall out while firing my machine guns into your massive hit box, or shoot two homing and just leave.

You have to remember the hydras circling capabilities are less consistent than any other fighter jet, using VTOL makes for much sharper turns, I didn’t say anything about fighting in VTOL, I just use it to catch the opposing pilot off guard when they’re circling around me once I send a missile their way, and then hover in the middle of their circle spraying the cannon which swats them out of the sky, puts them all in shock when I kill em and makes for some angry messages

In theory, it works. In practice it works. I’m a decent pilot, and I love seeing that lazer icon on the map, because it’s an easy dogfight win for me. The Pyro, modeled after the de Haviliard Vampire is an air superiority fighter. It’s meant for dogfighting. It will win if you have a half decent pilot behind the controls.

My personal list of the best aircraft, it's not in a particular order but the higher up the list the better they are imo and if they're not on at all then I wouldn't recommend in that category Air to ground: Bombushka Hydra Lazer Any of the bomber planes if you're good enough to actually hit your target Air to air: Starling Pyro Lazer Rogue Hydra Molotok Hydra gets a few points for being a Pegasus vehicle and a personal vehicle so it's very easy and convenient to get one if you own one, obviously if you're skilled enough in any of the planes you can still take down players piloting the other aircraft. I can take out a Lazer with only the machine guns on a buzzard with ease, it doesn't matter how good the other aircraft is if they don't know how to use it properly In general though I find the video testing to be pretty accurate

No matter what plane your in, if a hydra sees you and comes at you head on, it’s all luck. You should try to fly in a direction where it’s cannons can’t immediately reach, but it might be to late. Another thing he really shouldn’t have done any testing durring a thunderstorm, as the results would be different. Also the turn caps on the planes can alter if you hit the brakes/ slow down a little bit. An important thing to note is fights between pyro vs starling, the battle will last a very long time and it mostly comes down to skill. Also, if a hydra is losing in a dog fight by being out manuevered, you can switch to hover mode to do a quick spin while the other plane passes. Very risky but worth a shot if you can’t get an angle

It makes me upset because I need the manuveurability too because it is one of the biggest factors along with armament. Speed is a big factor but isn't going to win on it's own.

Exactly what I thought the results would be. Of course it doesn't take into account weapons and countermeasures, which are also relevant but pure dogfighting this makes sense. If you can out-maneuver someone because a plane is just faster or more maneuverable the other person isn't going to have the upper hand. Some things slightly offset that like explosive cannons or countermeasures but you'll eventually wear someone down. Doesn't mean they can't beat you, but they won't typically have the upper hand and that's the point. Hydra and Rogue still have their relevant uses. But this is good work.

I was in my Hydra last night and got into a dogfight with a wild Pyro. The dude kept up a decent fight but I got him in the end. His Pyro stood no chance. It was evident when he logged off as soon as his Pyro hit the ground.

On the Pyro - The friend can launch countermeasures and leave the pure dogfight to the pilot more focused on it - I have done a lot of research and decided for the Pyro, but now that I see this video I' m even more sure - In my case I should add - I never use the cannons on dogfight (suck at it) and I have the Akula for bombing and missions and vertical maneuvers, do not need the Hydra at all - Evading missiles easily is a must for me and the Pyro seams to be the very best at it

Useful against* players thaatbdont know how to dogfight. Lazer is middle of the road. I would definiely recommend using the starling because of the price, effectiveness, versatility and ease of bombing. If you have a lot of money get the B11 too

The molotok is not bad because it can land in tight spaces really easily. This is because it can stop almost instantly when it lands. The Pyro can do it but its bigger and lands a second after.

well heres 3 vehicles that can beat the pyro in the sky 1: starling - its the most agile jet if you feather the boost meaning dont go full speed in a dogfight with the starling 2: hydra - you might think im dumb for this but a hydra vtol pilot does have a high chance of beating a pyro i even bet pilots that are better than me to prove that 3: b11 (at high altitudes) - the b11 at low altitudes would likely lose to a good pyro pilot because of its slow top speed but if you go to the higher altitudes you can pretty much beat the pyro

Should have tested out the Hydra VTOL turn... AAND, The 2 Hydra speed glitches with it..... The Hydra speed glitches increases well.... SPEED... But, They Massively fix the acceleration rate.... While the VTOL massively effect the turn.... If you do both combined it can create some pretty crazy results at times.... Also FURTHER NOTE speed and acceleration ACTUALLY increases with height.... NOW It is small sooo this one isn't a complaint more just a fun fact

You could dogfight with the duster. It doesn't madder what jet or plane your using. A fair dogfight or 1v1 is preformed with take same aircraft. Now the laser with all the different turning glitches will be unstoppable.

@@TheScorpion615 it isn't that hard after getting used to it, and the fact that you're gliding actually helps a bit because it doesn't require crazy throttle and brake tapping, you just need to start to learn and get the feel of when you should or shouldn't use a bit of rocket boost. Plus, it can actually turn a lot quicker if you just do a normal horizontal turn and not turn all the way, you will notice it starting to turn tighter if you stop pulling fully back. I don't know why this happens, but it does, and it can help you if you're having trouble and are able to trick the opponent into entering the horizontal turn as well

@@diesel4ever273 After getting more into pvp my opinion changed again. I’d rate the order of dog fighters Starling, Pyro, B11. They’re all much closer than I thought originally. I pretty much can win any dogfight in any of those but the B11s size and low speed just make it to hard to survive a merge vs a hydra or lazer. My favorite plane by far is the pyro because of the versatility the speed and spammable rockets give. My next favorite is the lazer because it does well against people who like to ewo and it also can finish someone before they can eject from their plane. Third I’ll honestly take the hydra because of its top speed it’s easy to fight mk2 and it has a speed glitch that can help you escape for multiple jets or ghost/off the radar. I don’t really think the starling has much of a place anymore outside of friendly dogfights due to its weakness against ewo. It can still fight mk2s but I’d rather take the other planes I mentioned or a Hunter. I’m not too fond of the staring anymore

it depends on the pilot. in dogfight mode i mostly used the nokota and fought pyros and i still won. i used it to also destroy molotovs. i used a pyro to destroy molotovs and ect in dogfight mode. you would be surprised to no that 90% of the gta community cant fly to save their own lives

They have similar top speeds. If a Hydra approaches while firing, the Pyro pilot will see it if their field of view is set to either Mid or Max. Pyro pilot will proceed to yaw, circle around until it's behind the Hydra, and shoot it down. Best chance is to hold fire until the Pyro is within the cannon's range, while Off the Radar/Ghost.

I feel like it's not the jet really it's really the person who's flying it. If a brand new person in the game uses a Pyro of course a hydra could take it down. But if an experienced player using a Pyro against a hydra yes the Pyro will win. It just depends how good the pilot is.

It is. People dont test out the plabes and try ti talk about tjem. I also think the starling would beat the pyro in a dogfight. They showed each vs a hydra but they didnt show them vs each other

Aircraft weapons (even stock weapons) will do more damage to their own kind. The Pyro is built for air superiority. People I go against air to air seem to learn that the hard way when I get the chase on them.

The Hydra is worth the money best because it's the best plane overall dog fighting grinding transportation etc like there is not that many aircrafts in the sky so that it is worth it to get a plane just for dogfighting. Get the all rounder

Guys the Hydra only came in last because they didn't know how to do it properly. You need to be on the ground using VTOL. Then hold LT or whatever the reverse button is then go back while still holding LT. Trust me it works try it for yourself

I don’t fly my hydra or mk2 anymore because of all the fanboys so what I use is the P45 nokota its fairly cheap and I only recommend it if u also get rockets on it. Whilst I was using this any hydras that came after me I took them out fairly easy the nokota machine guns do the same as the pyro and you can also put counter measures on it.

I still use my hydra but prefer the lazer. I have yet to lose a dog fight to a pyro. Yes on paper the pyro is better but most pilots I run into in freeroam arnt skilled enough.

It was until that moment, that the hydra did a 180 turn and fired the explosive cannon... Honestly though it just depends on how you play and how good your at it- I’m also a great fighter pilot and I think you can get more things done with the hydra like missions

If you want a fun aircraft that is cheap and pretty solid at dog fighting, get rogue. It’s great for a starter pilot (In real life it’s used for a starter). It’s an all rounder aircraft with bombs countermeasure and sadly the worst explosive cannon. Keep in mind if your a good shot the explosive cannon is still practical at dogfighting. If your a skilled pilot that is serious about flying. Consider pyro, it’s great at dogfighting but for being a fun vehicle, meh. If your an asshole that wants to mess someone’s day up, get laser/hydra. Honestly just get the Starling only if you want to have fun with the booster. It’s not practical for other reasons. Dogfighting it’s okay.

Rogue is my best personal opinion It is the cheapest fighter plane It has explosive bullets and it has missles and it isn't that slow but not too fast either

Im still going to use a Hyrda just because it can take a homing and also most people will still use the hyrda because everyone owns one. And most average GTA players cant fly for shit so most likely you'll win against no matter what they're flying.
