Yea, but they're kinda way too alike. Straight arrow, eager, fairly young, Bekowsky is a bit more cynical, but that's about it. So personally, I prefer the Phelps-Rusty duo. You know, a young and eager detective, a bit inexperienced and slightly naive and an old bulldog, drunkard cynic who's seen way too much shit to give a damn, they perfectly balance each other.

I’m kind of curious why none of the actors tried to affect a mid-Atlantic accent even though that’s how everyone would have roughly sounded aside from regional(that eyewitness girl from Kansas having an older western accent) or ethnic accents(Irish, AAVE, Chicano Southern Californian). It’s like only Jean Archer’s actress bothered. Maybe it was difficult or it would have come off as cheesy but it’d be very much in spirit of the times since hamming it up was very much in the spirit of the 1940’s.
