Great job y'all, I found a really good deal at everyone's favorite low cost tool store "Harbour Freight". I purchased 2 of the Grant's drying towels they sell in the auto detailing section and I'll tell you Phil I'm totally impressed by the results of them. If you get the coupon they offer when buying I paid only $5.79 for 2 and they are about 6sq ft..maybe really dry in 1 wipe. Just thought I'd tell you what I found that works as I hoped it would..

Phil I know both of us are not into this PIR thing but I did follow their recommendation of 4% PIR (in my case based on flow rate, it was 458mls neat in a snowfoamer 1L bottle ( so not diluted further, only this 458 mls in the bottle) I have to admit, it cleaned very very well. I washed a Nissan Quashqai. Used approx 100mls equating to approx 1.85€ per wash. In your case here, I am pretty sure you would have come out super clean on it with 4% PIR but at approx 1% PIR, then I suspect the results are not good as you saw. They suggest 2% for light soiling of the paint. So again, I am not a PIR guy but I was bought over when I did it “properly “. Now will I continue to use it...maybe if it speeds up my current process and remains cheaper and does not use up so much water... but I think I prefer my APC/TFR set up
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for sharing your experience! Great info! Yeah I figure that out process is so failed in that when I try to deviate from it, the results are less than satisfactory. 🤷🏻‍♂️. We have tried so many methods over the years. This one just works the best for us.

that gsf from Koch is actually not bad at cleaning too its not week as normal snow foam like basically every snow foam does nothing except very few like car pro Koch bilt and couple others but it's not strong so its great middle I myself want some but I can't yet get it I use that bilt hamber but its kinda strong, not the best in the summer where you don't need much power. What is your most favourite snow foam and what do you think of megs hcw any recommendations on a product that changed your life? And if you don't mind what is the price for your setup for 1 pre-wash APC? and this time you did apply the built hammer correctly its a pre-wash its doesn't need to be thick it just needs to coat the paint its fast-acting so no need to have huge coat love your videos you are a man because you can accept that was your mistake huge respect for that
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
I have 2 more videos coming out soon that show Bilt Hamber again. It’s ok in my opinion, but I do not use the “snow foam” method when detailing anyway. I have found it to be inefficient. To much water and product being used and the results aren’t what I want. My tried and true method is to use an APC or degreaser as an APC rinse. I mostly use either Super Clean or Extra Tough degreaser and will dilute strong like 5:1, since it’s so affordable. That’s what we did on the driver side of the truck. It just still works better for us. Less water is used, it’s faster, and the chemical is cheap. But again, this is just our process that works for us.

We love to use 3-D speed or max shine all in one polish if the customer doesn't want any type of extra protection. Hello Phil. Apologies if these are stupid questions, but i am still trying to gain knowledge about detailing. Is it possible that protection on a car is so good that the car dries to quickly after washing and induce water spots ? Also i noticed when i apply a ceramic spray it appears grabby on application, but becomes slick over time, would you regard that as normal ?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 2 жыл бұрын
HI. No problem. Usually with Coatings they do produce high beading and it tends to leave spots if the water is not DI or there is dust or pollen or sap and it rains and dries. As far as grabbiness, it depends on the coating. for Gtechniq Coatings they are very slick from the onset, but I have used other ones that are grabby and then get slick and others that are grabby and remain grabby after curing.

Could we do a ceramic like crystal serum outside in the shade, or absolutely in a garage?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Any ceramic coating really should be applied indoors. Outside dust, pollon, etc will cause issues when applying. plus any moisture that settles on the paint will compromise the coating. So yes it could be applied outdoors, but then you may not get the results you want.

There is no one right way to do this. Situations, preferences, tools used, budget, vehicles plus a bunch of other factors affect choice of chemicals. If there was a one size fits all option that cost a penny, worked for pressure washers, garden hoses and rinseless washes, was completely ph neutral and got the vehicle 100% clean without having to be dried everyone would use it. That doesn’t exist and never will. If what you use works for you and you’re happy with the results; you got a winner.

I was looking at that longer metal step platform you have, but was concerned about its stability. I have a similar, metal one, but it's shorter and is very stable. I stood on the longer version to test it out at the big box store, and it felt a little shaky, especially trying to step up from the end (where the ladder steps are located). What's your real experience with that platform? I would like to have a longer platform for our SUVs, instead of having to move the smaller one down the length of the vehicle. Thank you for your insights.
@MirandaDetailing

Hi. I’m 220lb and 6.2 tall and I have no issues with that platform. I love it! It’s super light and it’s nice to be able to get close to the vehicle without railings like a step ladder does. I wish it had extendable legs to go a little higher. But then it would be slightly more tippy.

Hi. It depends I guess on the pre wash. The bilt hamber isn’t foamy enough for my liking. I have however used AM foam which is also a pretty wash foam and it’s very slick and foamy, love it.

just watching the end. Phil you should start the much needed product/water ratio trend. Like 1 to 10 - actually 1:9 - is basically 10% product 90% water solution. The 1 to 10 parts stuff is nonsense.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks. Yeah I don’t worry to much about ratios. 1:10 or 1:9 whatever, 🤷🏻‍♂️ it gets the job done even if we are an ounce or two off. I only dilute to a select few ratios 1:10, 1:4, 1:1 and that’s about,,,,of course those ratios may be off by an ounce or so. But again no big deal. 😎👍🏼

Hey brother ! How do you upsell csl vs csl and exo? Longer longetivity or more gloss?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 2 жыл бұрын
Hey man. We really don't "Sell" our services like that. We basically let the customers know what we do and what we offer and give them options. For CSL we just let them know that we can add EXOv4 as an additional layer of protection that makes it more hydrophobic, but honestly we never really top CSL or CSU with EXO because we found it unnecessary.

You MAYBE clay use the clay bar. Shouldn’t you use a clay bar no matter what just to be safe before applying a ceramic coating? Thanks Phil just want to clarify.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Good question. No I don’t do things arbitrarily. If the paint is smooth and clean using a clay bar is useless and could actually induce some marring. One should only clay bar when it’s needed

Hi I’ve used CSL about 10 times it’s good but it makes me nervous to use in my garage a few times it dried really fast small garage with a mini split blowing maybe I should keep it off but there’s always either temp/humidity too high or too low. Would I be better off applying exo as a stand alone? Is one coat ok how would that be for protection and is it more forgiving for the user vs CSL. I also had a customer come back with CSL 8 months after for maintenance and was super gritty. covered in tar they don’t hold up well in my area Massachusetts always paving the roads, winter and summer, the cars get gritty fast even with csl and need the polish more frequently most people in my small town want the wax sealant but here and there coatings not sure what I can do maybe exo I applied it on a motorcycle once long time ago don’t remember fully Thank you for any advice 🙏🏻
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 2 ай бұрын
Hi. CSL and EXO apply the same way. They both have bead lines when it’s ready to relive. If it’s hot and humid it simply sweats faster and you just wipe it off sooner. In my old garage I didn’t have good air conditioning and I had to apply it fast. Still worked great. As far as your local area and tar build up. Nothing you can do about that. Tar from paving will get on the vehicle no matter what. Just inform your customers of that.
