Brian Kemp is my governor. He was secretary of state while running for governor (in charge of oversight of the elections in this state) and some very questionable things happened. Kemp appointed Kelly Loeffler to a vacant senate seat. Loeffler, whose husband is chair of the NYSE, sold a bunch of stock right before the crash and lied about it.

Yeah, that's bad. While its little solace to be informed that I'm in a somewhat similar boat, perhaps our commonality of frustration at the bad leadership in our own states will be of some worth. My governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, refuses to order a shelter in place, even though every state that touches our border has done so recently to a degree more than we. She announced that she was holding a live twitter Q and A with our public yesterday and then as the questions were flooding in on the hashtag she'd recommended folks use, she answered, via twitter, five questions in that hour that we could see. Five. And those answers were non answers. Just we're thinking about it, working on it replies. A whole lot of folks are furious with her not only for that train wreck of a Q and A, but more so for her lack of action on multiple matters concerning this virus and our citizens. I saw that a few folks questioned whether she may have held it to divert attention away from the live round table Alabama Senator (D) Doug Jones was holding on his facebook page at that same time. You can look at the comments on the twitter hashtag AskGovIvey to see what folks have written, if you are interested in seeing a lot of pissed off and worried Alabamians.

I'll add something to before your timeline begins. They've been cutting funding to the health sector, most notably to the CDC.
@EnervatedSociety4 жыл бұрын
No they haven't. In fact the CDC received more money for global pandemics. No Trump did not cut 37 global anti-pandemic programs, or whatever number is going around now. Seriously, look this stuff up. None of this stuff happened.
@thethegreenmachine4 жыл бұрын
@@EnervatedSociety I looked it up at Factcheck. You're partly right. Trump tried but failed (he's still an aasshole for trying, and it still goes to the fact that Trump chose this) to reduce funding to the CDC (Congress gave them a raise instead), but the National Security Council's Office of Global Health Security and Biodefense was eliminated by Trump's man, Bolton. If you're gonna correct someone, you should make sure you yourself are correct.

@@thethegreenmachine Oh I am, I just didn't go into detail because I prefers people inform themselves. I avoid trying to convince people of anything. I got my info straight from the CDC because that's how I roll. Fact checkers are biased of course, they all are. Also, when you hear reports about money, programs, ect being cut, canceled dismantled, ect" always make sure to look at the details that the media news won't report when it's not in their political interest to. For example, Trump's admin cancelled PREDICT but that info alone tells you nothing. The media reported it like it was the worst thing ever. Most people would walk away from that information thinking Trump did something bad but his admin in fact cut out the fat from the bacon and kept all the useful parts which continue to serve their purpose under another org. My singled advantage is I don't have TDS so I remain objective. I'm neither for nor against the Dems or Rep. I'm not a Con or a Lib. I have no dog in any fight, the only thing that interest me is the truth so peruse that to the best of my ability. BTW, to anyone who reads this at all on the internet. If you hate someone you never met and or who has never done anything to you or anyone you love personally, directly, physically, on purpose, you're irrational and should probably get some therapy. No stranger should be that personal to you. it's bad for your health too. Be smart.

@@EnervatedSociety I'm not talking about missing details. "None of this stuff happened," is plainly wrong.
@EnervatedSociety4 жыл бұрын
@@thethegreenmachine Do you really need me to be wrong or something? "None of this stuff happened," refers to my post and I have not gone into enough detail of what all that entails so you don't have the information to make that judgement. I can only figure you're making assumptions at this point or you're applying what I said to your post, which lacks the information I require to reply in that context. Hope that clears things up. Anyways, . . . stay safe.

Politicians are way too far up their own arses and need a good reality check.

From what I've seen - there was a narrative that people who sounded the alarm about bird-flu and swine-flu were chicken littles - and this allowed people in high office and much of the public to think there wasn't an urgent need to act. We were complacent.

Hi GTF! I am so scared for you folks in the states right now. It is terrifying watching your leaders kill you with inaction from afar. It is terrifying knowing that so many of you wont be able to afford treatment, and therefore might not seek help. I hope this crisis spurns your country to refuse to move forward without universal healthcare. Consensual cyberhugs from canada. I hope you and yours will all be ok.

yep trump new as did boris jonson, they were worried about the economy first, and population second, no country reacted right first time, even germany lagged a little though they were fastest in europe to react, all our leaders have blood on their hands. be safe m8, hope we can keep it under 20,000 in the uk, cos thats the projection at the moment.
