Coolant temp in p3 gauge is accurate/real, the dash gauge only goes to 200F when in “normal conditions” and doesn’t show fluctuations. It’s a consumer panic thing, most cars do this.

You should do an MK4 or 5 Golf R32 build or an MK7 Golf R build. It’s insane how fast you can make the new R’s. They’re kind of like mini GTR’s. Always loving the GTI content and it’s nice to see a content creator who isn’t necessarily a VAG enthusiast give the platform a shot. I never get tired of my MK7.

The p3 also has peak recall. Press the left button after a pull and it will flash the highest number, ie highest psi you hit.

I didn't hook up the dimmer wire but use the manual dim. I found even that was not dim enough..it is very bright at night. I used led display dimmer film cut in its shape to darken it. It may get too dim on a bright sunny day but then I can just hold the dim button to bright and it's bright enough. At night on the dimmer setting it now blends in more with the dash level.

I've basically followed your recipe without meaning to. 2016 GTI, did Unitronic stage 1, then stage 2 with APR IC and Unitronic DP, then stage 2+ with is38. Stock cat back. I want to get this gauge. Was it a good edition? Just looks fun to use. I have a stock airbox with 034 insuction kit but I wanna get a Unitronic CF intake just for looks. Any other stuff you recommend?

To all those tackling that vent trim, be patient. It's stressful and doesn't play nice. Some come out easier that others, my GTI was a pain while my buddy's R was a breeze.

you can actually check the exact coolant/oil temp in the performance gauges in the center infotainment screen. at least you can on my 7.5 Autobahn

Yep. You can also check 90% of what the P3 gauge shows already in the GTI lol. Boost, coolant, oil, etc. Especially since he didn’t manually hook this up to a boost tap, or do AFR, the P3 is literally pointless for him, and is more a decoration piece if anything.
