Sir i don't understand why you cancelled (x-1) at 11.15.. It is greater than 0 so why it is cancelled?

It is not cancelled out. It is removed for the following reason. If p > q + (x - 1) and x => 1 then x - 1=> 0. So, q + (x - 1) => q (like 3 + 2 > 3). But p > q + (x - 1) So, p > q + (x - 1) > q. Hence p > q
