it’s actually the rubber banding effect failing!! basically when the player moves fast, pug moves fast to catch up. but if you dont move or hide at the start he walks past you, not tracking the player’s movements. the dev team messed up on that part.

Something I rarely hear people mention is how Mommy screams “You can’t do this! You’ll make me part of him!” Which is something I hope Matpat delves into a bit further. My guess is that prototype attaches “broken toys” to itself as sorts of upgrades which means we may see Mommy again and maybe even Huggy seeing as how we never saw where he ended up.

Tarantula keeper here: Mat is *partially* correct about Daddy-Longlegs. Daddy-Longlegs *are* arachnids, but they are not spiders. They are actually Harvestmen, or Opiliones! They do not have the segmented body that spiders have, as Mat pointed out, but they also do not produce silk to make webs or have venom to defend themselves with.

The whole huggy wuggy being “obedient” makes sense. I mean think about it he had the option to go outside the facility but chooses to stay in his resting position in that one room. He basically acted as a guard dog, even the security guy said they had other less tame security meaning huggy wuggy

I think it's poetic see how Mommy's lying corpse gets dragged by the Prototype's menacing hand. The Trailer for Chapter Two began with us seeing a Huggy Wuggy plush being taken by Mommy Long Leg, insinuating that a bigger threat is coming. And how Chapter Two ends, showing us Mommy Long Legs no longer a threat to us, instead revealing the next bigger threat taking her corpse away, just like she did with the Huggy Wuggy plush.

Usually yes, KZbinrs typically don't have an impact on a space outside of KZbin, but KZbin is responsible for the success of most indie horror games, plenty of which Mark played no small part in. I used the term "major KZbinr" as a stand-in for "major KZbinr who has a high likelihood of playing the game and promoting the game by posting a video." So, a promotional decision. Yeah, I noticed that! There are also times when Mommy Long Legs mutters under her breath (specifically when the player completes the tasks) it sounds monotonous and a great storytelling/foreshadowing for the later chase scene dialogues.

i saw a theory backed up by the tapes and papers found that when the experiments are revived, they always have a tendency to have murderous intent, and that because poppy was in her case, she didn't get consumed by "the darkness", until she was released. As the theory talks about how poppy is possibly apart of these expirements.

Im about 90% sure that playtimes whole orphan project thing is so they can have humans for experiments without anyone noticing or caring if they're missing. The play center is to test if they're viable subjects, and if they're not then playtime "helps" them, by teaching them to do better at the games. I cant remember the exact line, but at one point, mommy says you deserve to die because you worked there. Idk. I could be wrong but its a theory that really sticks with me and i haven't seen anyone else mention it.

The three games are testing cognitive ability (musical memory), reflexes and reaction times ( whack a wuggie) and obedience(at least i think that would be the test for Statues) The orphans are almost certainly being used in the experiments, As op said, because no one will notice them disappearing, they have no families to look for them if they disappear. 52:14 Yeah, PJ has some interesting AI. His speed depends on the distance between the player. So, if you’re far away from PJ, he’ll move a lot faster, and when he’s near you, he’ll slow down. This is so that PJ remains a viable threat through the entire minigame, since you can get through it pretty quickly. PJ having a set speed would make it too easy, and also render him not a threat. Hey, there’s your episode of Fun Facts with Dom for the day. It looks like at that point in the video (follow the timestamp), PJ’s AI miscalculated the distance between the player and himself (in this case his AI thought the player was at the other end of the obstacle course), and ended up zooming off over there. I think the lines in the death screens are lines spoken by the employees back then, and not by Poppy. This is evident as one says that "He is loose" and "This is an emergency lockdown" which coincides with the event when The Prototype created a laser to temporarily blind the camera in his room and was seen being missing from his room, which due to it one of the surveillance specialists had to go inside his room to find him, only to find out that he was hiding in the blind spot of the cameras in order to escape. In the end, another specialist then closed back the door from which the first specialist who tried to search for him came from, hence, "This is an emergency lockdown", and ends with the specialist dying in the hands of the Prototype

This might be a bit of a hot take, but in the first video of MatPat doing chapter 2, there was a form on one of the rejected toys in the warehouse at 1:05:00 which read that someone named "Patty Hall" had sabotaged one of the machine - it also read "saboteur has since been dealt with"...It's also true that when Kissy Missy made an appearance, she didn't attack you. What if Patty Hall became Kissy Missy? Patty Hall may have seen the true nature of the company and rebelled by sabotaging their production lines, before being experimented on.

I really like that idea, that would explain how she isn’t violent towards the player, but there is also the possibility that she was given commands by mommy to not attack. You have to remember that huggy wuggy was obedient, and so the other “wuggys” might also be obedient, also seen in the “wack a wuggy”. Something I just noticed with this play-through: Poppy seems to have been stuck in the Game Station control booth this entire time. It is more than likely that Poppy - impersonating a recording of Stella - operated all those games/tests on purpose to see how well you'd perform. Since both Stella and Poppy share the same VA, this could easily be overlooked, but it's also a great way to hide what Poppy's up to/been up to.

So Mat to clarify the situation, you are just an employee as far as we aware, Experiment 1006 is the prototype a creature that, judging by Mommy Long Legs saying "he’ll make me part of him!" As she dies implies that 1006 is taking parts from both humans and other toys to build upon himself for some reason. 1006 is also supposedly the one who caused the catastrophe at the factory and the employee disappearances due to them mentioning in the final tape in chapter 1 that he escaped one day and they haven’t been able to find him, the scientist acknowledging that everything that is happening must be because of him. Simply put 1006 is Poppy Playtime’s Willam Afton. And I’m assuming even though Poppy is being bad by not wanting us to leave it will probably 1006 who ends up being the main antagonist.

1006 is more like the Ennard of Poppy Playtime. Taking bits and pieces from others to put himself together. As well as possessing extreme intellect almost comparable if not greater than a humans. I do believe he is trying to formulate himself in some way to be able to go outside and be free. Kinda like poppy but in a eviler way

Entomology student here: Daddy longlegs are arachnids but are actually more closely related to either scorpions or mites (still being debated) than to spiders. Also, they do have mouths but their mouthparts aren't strong enough to pierce human skin. Even if they could, they don't have venom glands so they wouldn't be dangerous.

In the tape, it mentions that experiment 1006 has "an alarming willingness to commit violence"; immediately after you killed Mommy Long-legs. Also, it sounded to me like she said something about becoming part of "him" as she was dying, so maybe whatever the big spider is, it can somehow absorb the other experiments.

New thought for the next game theory. Poppy may not actually be Stella. She is mentioned in the protocol log in the observation deck along with Mommy Long legs who wasn't introduced until the 90s. Unless, maybe the big twist is that Stella lived long enough to become bitter and mad. In fact she may be the game's true antagonist as the protocol makes her seem like a head researcher. Look for a secret underground lab or bunker.

They might of only been able to put a single soul in one poppy toy, and couldn't replicate it.

I get where you're coming from. The 80s-style commercial, along with the in-game posters, emphasized Mommy's weakness to extreme heat (and cold), and other instructions noted that it was difficult to overstretch her legs/body. Having said that, I think her bloody death involving the gears is a much more effective finisher for this chapter.

@@LizzardGirl713 personally to me, burning/melting alive and being crushed, bit-by-bit are equally as horrifying to think about, but they did a fantastic job with the death, both in terms of sound design and the animation. Her face going back to a more exaggerated version of the default toy face as soon as she was dead is absolutely chilling. Despite all the poor choices that the people higher up have made between chapter releases, I really hope this game does well, the people who worked on the game itself deserve it.

i think my whole thing is, from what I coudk see, those spindly legs came OUT of mommy long legs, not FOR her. which means she didn’t die anyways, she was just severely injured. perhaps even mortally wounded! but she might not be able to be truly killed until she is frozen or burned. OR, and hear me out: those were just rules meant for her toy version. bc…they ARE only said in the commercial. the toy can stretch for a while, but surely not as much as mommy long legs? at least not once they’re put out into the shelves. otherwise we’d be having a very dark toy story scenario happening all over the world. which i imagine isn’t happening bc there’s never been any social issues with playtime as far as i can tell? edit: this is for the fact that the hand looks like it’s doing either or upon rewatching, not strictly coming from her! which means they probably meant it to look like it’s taking her and the lighting just made it wonky for my bad eyes. hope this helps!

to be fair about the trophy issue, the youtubers (at least the ones i have seen so far) that posted before your first video on this all got the flower statue either by accidentally having the hand land on it when testing if they could interact with other stuff or just attempting to pick up papers on the desk and clicking on the statue. so it must have been frustrating for some of your viewers to watch you clearly pick up all the interactibles on the desk... but the flower statue.(edit: to be fair to you about the green tape... you are only the second person i have seen who actually found it)

What if the prototype lured the player back. Maybe the other toys see the player as a way to escape into the world or get revenge. But 1006 sees the player as a way to complete itself. By destroying the other toys, it can assimilate them into it. Idk it's 2 in the morning and I don't remember the lore that's already been established with 1006

What I was able to get from reading the experiment 814 was a couple things: 1. A rat and poppy flowers were used 2.The poppy flower apparently has symbiosis properties 3. The rat was fed something and after 2 weeks was killed and submerged into a poppy flower and prepared into a gel mixture 4. After 1 week it was given an electric shock while in the gel to see if it could be revived 5. The attempt failed but the person (Most likely Ludwig) wondered what would happen if used on something bigger than a rat So what I believe is that Ludwig is using the symbiotic poppy flower to try and revive that dead family member and all the monsters and toys like Huggy-Wuggy, Poppy, and Mommy Long Legs were past experiments to test that and while it worked it also caused many problems. I also believe that the hand that takes Mommy Long Legs at the end of the chapter is possibly Ludwig himself. There is also Poppy who either is going to get vengence for being trapped or try and take over the player's body to escape. But that's my theory a GAME THEORY
