I use O'Three Jollop to get my wetsuit on and off more quickly. It's the same stuff I use to get my hands through the wrist seal of my SCUBA drysuit

As a tech diver, we've been using KY Jelly to easy donning a dry suit or semi dry wetsuit without damaging the neoprene at all. In fact, it help protect and prolong the neoprene and it's not a hazard to fish in the ocean or rivers and lakes.

Pro tip put your pull boy more towards your knees. Helps to train good posture en blocks more of the movement. Same with kickboard. hold it at the end for better posture training. or use your pullboy more demanding on the core.
@PhiyackYuh3 жыл бұрын
I thought its more just above the knees? Reason being when squeezing it with your knee you tend to activate your core and you can also feel it in your adductors yeh?

Ear plugs are essential for my swimming, even during races.
@wilfdarr4 жыл бұрын
Never wear earplugs for diving, but for swimming, I can tell you from experience that a bad infection can set your training back years once you consider the time getting it under control, doctors appointments and you have the timpanoplasty. I now always wear plugs for pool training and carry a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my swim bag.

Would a flotation belt be a good way to simulate wet suite? Neoprene flotation shorts = $$$ and can't share. Pull buoy prevents legs from being used properly.

Hey people, I have a few questions for you. I felt quite awful during my run today. I've had an 8k trail race 2 weeks ago, had 1 week of recovery after that and this week I was preparing to start my regular training schedule. But I had some stomach problems in the past 2 days, barely ate anything and couldn't sleep well. I was feeling good this morning and headed out for a run, but started to feel bad after 2 kilometers and had to stop. Is it because of these last 2 days that I've mentioned ? I was expecting a performance drop but not that much. Thank you very much for your answers.

Honestly as someone new to Tri comming from a swim background, they really are. Maybe not the snorkel, shorts or bag, but the flippers, paddles, pull buoy, and kick board are a massive part of a well structured swim schedule. Sometimes local pools have kick boards or pull boyes you can use, or there are 2 in one kick/pull things that can save money.

I have been training for that original tri and others since then and you guys keep reminding me that there are THREE disciplines in triathlon. Thanks for reminding me that I need to learn how to not drown half a mile into the race if and when I get to go to a non-virtual one 😂😂😂

I did a seminar with Mandy Rae Cruickshank and Kirk Krak (her coach) back when she still held the world record, showed up at the pool with a snorkel, and that was the last time I ever used one: it's 12 cu.inch of dead air, it adds drag, they have a tendency of unsealing goggles at inopportune times... it's just easier to turn your head. On that note, I've just run across an open water method where you turn your whole body rather than just your head that looks promising, I haven't tried it yet, but maybe look into that as well. My theory is that people like you and I aren't going to win the iron man, we're doing it simply for the fun of it, so do what works for you.
