I have been fighting with the gaps on the front end of my Chevelle, so this was a big help. I think my core support also needs to be raised and that should fix all of my issues. Thank you for the video.

Very tricky fitting those front ends. You have to have all the parts. I originally tried to do it without the hood, I thought it was perfect until I put the hood on. It was horrible. I couldn't get the hood to fit. Hope this video helps you. All the best

You can hook on the fender bolts and measure corner to corner before good installed.

Wow I’m so glad I found your channel been watching you for a while now I am having such issues with my 69 One thing is I don’t have a decent straight enough front bumper Second I pounded out the fenders I believe the car ran into a wall at one point and the bolt you’re talking about the front fender to the firewall I have like over an inch and a quarter of space yeah I have big issues 🤦♂️
@classicrewind27152 жыл бұрын
Maybe your firewall is pushed in. try to put a straight edge and see if it's dented. Maybe you could get a puller remove your fender screw it into the hole and pull it out. I'm just guessing without seeing the car. I hope this helps. All the best

@@classicrewind2715 hey thanks for the information I just found a decent Front bumper I will try that too to see if the firewall is pushed in I have heard from several people lining everything up on the Front clip up on 68,69,70, GTO’s can be a challenge Hey I was watching another of your videos talking about where to find used parts do you know about Frank’s Pontiac new and used parts online and KZbin channel

I just got done lining everything up on the GTO. I have to do some adjusting on the hood, i put slight little dents in the fronthood. So it fit the bumper. I could work with the little dents. Here is another tip, put your hood on and try to align it the best you can to the fenders before you mess with your firewall. I thought my front end was lined up until I had my front hood installed, I was out 3/4 of an inch. then I started messing with the firewall bolts. I hope this helps. all the best

Another great video Harry, How do you adjust the front end of it is not square. Can you loosen the radiator support and move it left or right??
@classicrewind27152 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne. Yes, you can move the radiator support, but they don't give you that much room you have to oblong the holes and slide it over. I've done that to other radiator core supports, just to get that little bit of extra room. Make sure you put your hood on with the hinges. that'll align your front end much better. I oblonged the fender hole that mounts to the cowl panel, hood hinges and the radiator core support by the frame. All those little adjustments make a big difference to aligning everything up properly.

Went through the Same hell with 72 Chevelle after market cowl induction hood and ended up finding a orginal cowl induction hood and paid up for it,, was no way without doing serious changes
@classicrewind27153 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Yes, those original hoods are very costly. I finally got everything to fit properly on the goat. It took some persuading. My buddy has a 71 Mustang that has the original hood. they're going for above $900. He ended up getting an aftermarket so he could cut it apart and put a scoop in it. All the best..

Great vid, the center of the hood of my 1969 GTO sits a good 1/2 to 1 inch higher than the center of my cowl. What do you think it is, do you think my hinges are bad, or can the hood latch be adjusted?
@classicrewind27158 ай бұрын
Thanks, I will check and make sure that your hinges are not binding. That is a common problem. You can determine that by pushing down on the hinge area when your hood is closed If It Moves your hinges are binding. You could also lift the front of your hood with the adjusting bushings that are on the left and right side of your radiator core support. The latch could also be adjusted. That adjustment is only on the front. Thanks for watching. I hope this information helps you. All the best .

Got a question, I’ve got a 1970 GTO that I’m starting. Sand Blasted it in and out. It needs everything. Where do I start? Floors or trunk floors. I need to replace everything around the trunk. It seems I need to remove the quarters to do some of the trunk floor. I also need to do the upper dash and cowl. Almost not worth it, but it was her high school car and her dads. Thanks for all the videos and work. Also does it have to come off the frame to do the floors. The rockers are really good but floors bad.
@classicrewind27152 жыл бұрын
If I were you, I would find a level spot in your shop or garage. Make sure when you take it apart and put it back together it never moves from that spot. When you're assembling the vehicle, therefore you won't have any problems putting everything back together as long as it stays level and square. I would start with your base first, which would be the floor. Then your trunk then your inner quarters my videos are done in order. If you start watching my videos from the beginning. Check them out. let me know if you have any other questions. All the best

You have to get your doors aligned first with rear quarter panels and rockers and then do hood and front fenders from there
@classicrewind27153 ай бұрын
Yes, since I replaced the quarter panels I wasn't sure if everything was lined up properly, so I went with the rocker panels. I had to go back and readjust the whole front end. It wasn't lining up. It's all on the spacing from your radiator core support. Once I dial the Core Support in with the proper bushings, everything lined up. I hope this helps. Keep in touch. All the best..

Are you doing all of this without the front inner fender wells in ???
@classicrewind2715 Жыл бұрын
