That pin is the stupidest design ever. Just tried for 20 minutes to wiggle it off (I did the other side no problem a couple weeks ago) and ended up cracking the plastic of my brake light :/ This tutorial did not help, but I appreciate at least from the comments knowing that I am not alone in my hatred for the pin. Thanks for sharing such a great and informative video. I recently did this same install with a Unisteer unit on my 1975 Trans AM. After a few days, I started to get a lot of fluid leaking out of the driver's side boot off the rack. I followed the recommended procedure to bleed the air out of the system, so I was surprised to have this occur. I have also discovered a lot of comments online regarding leakage from these Unisteer units. I am curious if you have you had any leakage issues with your Unisteer R&P?

Sorry for the late delay in responding. I am still in the building stage of the car. Have not put fluid in the system. hopefully, I will not have a situation like leakage. I've also heard a lot of bump steer with the unisteer R&P. Do you happen to have any bump steer with your unit? All The Best..

Hello Harry, my 64 Chevelle is progressing. I had asked you a while ago about your Unisteer rack in your GTO and you responded that you hadn’t driven the car yet. At this point I am about ready to yank mine out and go back to a gear box. When going down a flat/smooth road the car feels like it wants to wander, when approaching a slight turn in the road the car feels like I’m going to lose control. I called Unisteer and spoke to Tracy, useless. I tried to get them to tell me how to adjust the vertical movement of center arm where the inner tie rods are connected to, their response was, take the unit out and send it back to them. It sure seems like Unisteer is a poor system. At this point I’m looking for opinions.
@classicrewind2715
@classicrewind2715 2 ай бұрын
Hi David. I went with unisteer, you are absolutely right. Their customer service is horrible. I had a question a while back, a couple years ago. They never got back to me. I hope I don't have that same issue that you have. I was thinking about using Flaming river. Their unit was a lot more money. At this point, I don't know what to tell you because I still am in my build stage. I am going to put a quick update video on the car. I'm going to take the summer off. I've been putting a couple car show videos up. Probably do one more and then take the summer off. Please let me know if unisteer ever gets back to you. I really hope I don't have the same problem. Funny, grew up in S. Brunswick. N.J. was then transferred to Mountaintop Pa. and now living 30mins. north of Daytona Beach, FL. I bought this 64 Malibu SS about four years ago sight unseen. Frame off restoration body is very straight, well built 327/400+hp. Tremec T56 6spd. Some things the builder went above and beyond and some things I just shake my head at. It’s a good thing I love working on this thing. If you don’t mind, when you get yours on the road let me know how you like your rack and check the vertical play of that center arm, there shouldn’t be any. Good luck with the rest of your project.

That adjustment is only on the front. Thanks for watching. I hope this information helps you. All the best .
