Indeed, it was dangerous and the driver who took the start should have been black flagged. But there is also another GT40 incident @7:25 where the "Ford GT" (1) N° 98 literally pushes a white Mustang off the track entering Fagnes corner. (1) these are replicas to 1966 specification unlike the rest of the field in pre 31/12/65 spec.

Well, a motoring journalist once tested a GT40 and a Ferrari P3/P4, and said that in terms of handling, the Ferrari is much better.

Mmm brilliant but initial over driving followed by red mist recovery drive. Theses things have poor brakes and woeful grip. Not sure the car would have made another 30 mins!
