GTS Exhaust Bushing Change

Just did this repair after watching this video (on my 2020 GTS 300 HPE) and it worked perfectly. Got some engine paint and painted up the exhaust before I put it back together - took about an extra hour, but was well worth it for the improvement in looks (and probably durability). Stretcher tool from ScooterWest was an absolute necessity in my case - it looks like the original assembly may have left out the gasket entirely and just cranked down the clamp all the way. Only thing I'd add is that it's probably worth having another clamp on hand in case yours is rusted together like mine was. Great video as always!

Changed the bushing today, which I got from you, and all went well. Purrs like a kitten now. Instead of the barbeque paint, which only works to 1200 F, I got a can of VHT from the auto parts store. It's made specifically for vehicle exhausts, and protects up to 2000 F.

Thanks, useful video this helped me do mine yesterday. I sprayed mine with BBQ paint as you recommended then coated it with acf-50 to give added protection from grit and wet roads here in the UK. I also bought the expander tool which helps a lot. Great video, thanks.

Just received the new bushing. It is not the same way at both ends... I have slowed the video down 2:23 to see which way the bushing goes in, but still not clear. I'm guessing that the "flat end" must go to the top, and the open weave into the pipe?

I bought a T40 socket as per your instruction and it DOES NOT fit the fasteners! OMGGGGGG!!!!! I have an 07 gts250ie

I'm hoping you can help me. I have a Piaggio MP3 250 that I bought from my local dealer(now out of business) with a Leo Vince Exhaust. Do you know whether or not these exhaust systems use a bushing?

Does the GTS and GT200 both take the same size bushing?

What are the bushings function ?

It seals the exhaust to the cylinder so all exhaust exits the end of the muffler. Otherwise you will have an exhaust leak.
