It's too late to offer a solution but the way I solved the latch bracket not lining up was to use an extension piece (not sure what they're actually called) that sits between the bracket and the core support, with a longer bolt going through it. It'll allow the two holes to align perfectly with zero modification to the car or bracket. I wanted to avoid hammering the bracket as most people do and I haven't seen anybody else do it this way but it works great. If your hood isn't closing properly, lift the bracket up slightly. Went through the same thing.

Yeah it still doesn’t feel great, I got it to open and close reliably now after messing with it for a while but it definitely feels like the latch needs to come up a tiny bit higher than the mounting points allow.

Really appreciate that 🙏🏻 and yeah but when I tried to order the lip through my local dealership they said that it was discontinued so I’m trying another place and seeing if they can get one for me.

Statistically the S14 does the worst for some reason, but the next video is going to be a long term review of the maxpeedingrods coilovers but I want to get a few more weeks of driving in to see if they hold up well.
