Is it further away? Feudalism transitions to Capitalism, and then Capitalism transitions to Socialism. But you cannot have socialism without sufficient productive forces. China is trying to acquire as much productive forces as possible. The modern global system of supply and demand and fulfillment, although ostensibly Capitalist, is undeniably based on central planning (Walmart, Amazon). China has mastered the logistics of central planning just like the greatest corporations of the world- that's a HUGE step towards achieving socialism. Step by step, we lay the groundwork. Furthermore, the conditions of the world being what it is, China cannot just abolish the State. It must be able to defend itself from hostile states. The Soviet Union learned from the mistakes of the Paris Commune, and China learned from the mistakes of the Soviet Union. The revolution isn't over, it has only begun.

No, it has been adapted but since you weren't part of it, you wouldn't know. It's like you study kung fu from watching, reading, or listening to it but never actually doing it so you wouldn't know.
