The Guadalupe Bass (scientific name: Micropterus treculii) is the state fish of Texas and a prize catch due to its rarity and significance. The fish can be found in shallow, flowing streams across Texas' biggest and most popular rivers.
If you ever manage to catch the nearly endangered fish you'll have to throw it back no matter the size or weight. The fish went endangered due to habitat destruction and hybridization with the smallmouth bass species.
