Jon I got a perfect place for you to go! Head on down to The Woodlands and fish lake Paloma (Taylor pond) there is a boat ramp and you can go on and put your kayak in there. absolutely heck of a time out on the water, caught some decent 6 and 7 pounders in there. I can't wait for you to go!!!

In case you ever run in to a small hole in your yak in the middle of nowhere again there is a quick way to patch small holes on kayaks. Take a pocket knife and trim small slivers on the inside of the lip of your dry compartment and melt them around the hole until the hole fills in. It’s worked numerous times for me and is basically the same thing thing they do to patch a yak (maybe a little more red neck way) but definitely works. Awesome videos man.

Whereabouts the Guadalupe? I'm in Kerrville, saw this video, love it! I've caught six different hybrids on the river one of which Parks and Wildlife had no clue. Bro I moved here two years ago and it's my first place I've ever been in all my world travels I've said I'm home. The energy is pure here at the Nexus point. There's some kayak access only spots you got to do a little dragon but you come up on the splits that run off in the areas of waterfalls pools something out of a fairy tale! LOL

There are no spotted bass in the guadalupe river. It's all largies and guads above canyon lake, with some smallies and smallie/guad hybrids mixed in below the canyon dam. Guads can have the tooth patch on their tongue as well

A tip for a field repair on plastic boats is to get a fire going, and heat a knife up to red hot. Then use that knife to melt the hole closed, use filler plastic from other things you have on hand if you need to and that will at least get you down the river until you can get it home and repaired properly.

would love to see a lower Guadalupe fishing trip! Starting at the canyon dam and going south. There are bass, rainbow trout, strippers, and so many more species you can catch in the lower guad.

Tough year fishin that whole stretch. I haven’t been since spring due to drought. The bridge where you met the viewer had zero flow a few months ago; not that it’s screamin now…lol. When the artificials aren’t getting it done, the Guad usually has lots of Hellgrammites under rocks in any fast stuff.

You really should look into a float trip on the upper part of Lake Creek in Alaska in the fall. The rainbow and grayling fishing is incredible. There are several outfits that do guided trips, but I have buddy does a solo trip every year. Lake starts at my cabin so I know the upper part very well and I’ll set you up with some of my flies that I tie for that time of year. Love your videos. Tight lines.

Great video, they keep getting better. An idea would be to utilize the Connecticut River trail (best in spring). Not only is it specifically set up for kayaking but can be taken as long or short as you like and can move through a huge variety of fish species from trout in the north though bass carp and catfish all the was to strippers blues and flounder at the sound.
