the whole 3rd person perspective changes the game more than I think alot of people realize if they aren't already big in dota style games. Many match up's I thought i'd lose have gone my way simply from a few missed autoattacks. Think it's really a nice blend that can draw in people that like shooters as well as dota and rts fans.

LoL/Dota/Aos/Smite are a specific type of game in the multiplayer online battle arena genre. Aeon of strife was the first, which was a mod for Starcraft, then Dota, which was a mod for Warcraft III, then more recently Dota2 and LoL. It's a really popular type of game with a very long history and there are tons of clones of it out there. Some do it very well, a lot don't.

Gem of isolation is an amazing item for any Guan Yu, basically gives him 100% slow time on enemies if you've got anyone nearby to keep healing/reducing cd's.

I really enjoy watching smite gameplay as I also play smite a lot. I appreciate that you post some smite gameplay here and would like to see more. However, I have to say you should be more selective about the matches you put here. For example, in this very match you had only 4 players in the opponent team. In addition, I think you can take some advice from your viewers about how to make more appropriate item builds. I would recommend buying spear of magus, gem of isolation, void stone for guan.

Force to play guan yu more effectively is to always max your 2 over your 3 ( your dash is better than your dot), then if you want to lay the tanky one and have a good carry in your lane, lever up your 1 over your 3. And always spam your 1 in combat with close allies for the cd reduction it gives.

ps. Reinforced boots 1, meditation and 2 health pots. Warlock sash 3. Depending on the team comp either breastplate of valor 3 or void stone 3 then alternate to the other. Gem of isolation 3, by far one of the best support items on Guan as it synergizes with his taolu assault better than most other abilities in the game. Last item is really game dependent if your feeling like a baws Rod of Tahuti, but if your feeling too weak then some extra health might be useful.

So much hilarity, fun commentary, double Guan Yu and Anubis ults. But that item build, get some magical power at least, more damage and more effective heals. Early Warlocks Sash or Spear of the Magus, gives good health as well. Great job of healing your teammates though.

and just btw after the first 100 protection of phys or magic the bonus to damage reduction they give you diminishes greatly for obvious reasons (so that you cant get 100% damage reduction.) So for the first 100 points in either, it reduces the damage you take by 50% or 25% I can't remember, 50 seems a bit excessive, then the next 100 points in protection reduces dmg by significantly less - thereby making dmg protection stacking less worthwhile than just increasing your health or buffing your dmg

That's the same build I use (without the Rod of Tahuti). Guan is so fun, especially with the broken ass meditation lol. Force, level your 2 first, its Guan's best ability. Taolu Assault really doesn't begin to shine until you have a Gem of Isolation.

it's pretty much the same way if you play a champion with clarity in LoL. It's kinda the point, you stay in lane forever while the enemey gets an upgrade advantage then you return after a lenthy farm for even better upgrade so you can just kill them more.

just a lil tip force - getting stacking items late game isn't nearly as good as getting them early game. You want to prioratize your items so that you can get the most out of them.

fair build but I would suggest buying spear of magus earlier cuz that penetration doesnt bring anything for late game nevertheless quite effective for early game. Also gem of isolation has a significant passive and u should utilize that also earlier. As for wall of absolution I'd say it is quite situational (depends on number and effectiveness of opposing AD gods). My suggestion: spear - rein. boots - warlock's sash - void stone or gem of iso (or both) - rod of tahuti. 6th item is situational

Dear lord, Meditation is beyond oped. The cooldown and number are perfectly aligned so litterally as soon as you run oom, and are about to have to go back to base, it's up and suddenly your almost full again. The way it's currently tuned, were it not for upgrades, you could never go back once in an entire game...

Personally I pick guan's dash first whether I am playing him tank or not, overall it does slightly less damage than taolu assault, but it's an escape, slow and the instant damage is nice. The slow is really good for early ganks if you have a good lane partner

eh, in terms of what...having fun? the "fun" derived from playing a game depends from person to person and saying one game is "10x better" than another is just a dumb comment. Smite looks amazingly fun, and this is coming from someone who played dota 1 for 6 years, stopped for 3 years, then picked up dota 2 one year ago (didnt touch hon or lol). yes dotas a great game, but smite is just a fun and i feel is for a different demographic and if refined, can carry a different set of skills to play

Maybe you're misunderstanding the term of MOBA. It's essentially supposed to play like Dota or any other MOBA. It's a game genre, it has to have a similar system just like all FPS's have essentially the same system.

this games gets that a lot, but no relax, is just that these character are from folklore and cultures araound the world, so is normal those had been seen in a game or two now and then, but is not like those games have a trademark in the character, is from culture...
