How come everyone forgets about wrist locks? I use them a ton!! But most people never try it even once! THEY WORK!!!!
@Silence-and-Violence10 ай бұрын
Because they're banned by stupid IBJJF for white belts so all the sport oriented schools don't teach them to their basics classes so the guys don't really integrate them much as they progress. I also love wristlocks, you can find them everywhere. Also, to be fair to a lot of competitive schools, a lot of wristlocks that work in rolls don't work as well in competition because people are willing to fight through pain more. That said, if you view your wristlock as not just a sub but as a way to force movement or grip release or to make them afraid of taking certain grips or positions then they are suddenly super viable again in competition, rolls, and "da streetz'. Hey, Jacare used to break wrists all the time by head-diving over the top of the basic standing lapel grab defense wristlock. He'd finish some matches with wrist breaks on first contact, like less than 20 seconds.

Part of the issue is separation. He needs space to execute the wrist lock but in the UFC standing guillotines are generally done up against the cage wall with the two fighters very close to each other. Look at how much separation there is between their hips. Also the fighters tend to establish a Gable Grip rather than an s-grip which would largely neutralize this lock unless the person defending the guillotine is vastly stronger than their opponent. This looks like one of those "defenses against someone that doesn't know anything." I can maybe see a fighter getting this on the regional scene but not in the UFC.

I have an amazing story. One day I was driving home, when all the sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

I used to Practice Nishiyama Aikido, Karate and Judo. I would never grab my hands like this in a naked choke. My right hand would either be a fist or in the opposite configuration with my left wrist bent so that I could use it to rotate my right hand and forearm to rotate the the right radial to crush the larynx in one quick twist. Its an old ju-jitsu move from before 1882 that was outlawed in the sport of Judo as it kills people unless they get a tracheotomy within 5 minutes.

However If they lock in you gotta fight for hand control. I do not study Ju jitsu but I am a folk wrestler and I study freundlich righen and kreig rigen. Literally translates to friendly wrestling and war wrestling. Friendly is for sport and war is for self defense and combat. There is a similar technique to that but it is done in a sprawled position. There are many counters many of which require you to catch the hand or arm before locking up. Elbow breaks in Kreig ringen are brutal and quick it takes less than a second. Finger locks basically dislocating the finger. Or if you are stuck a throw would be a valid option because your opponent is holding on for dear life around your neck. You try to get as much momentum as possible kick his knees and use your arms to flip him over you so he is in a less dominant position which he will be forced to let go. However the best counter to any choke is don't get put in one in the first place. Don't allow the arm to go around your neck. The wrist lock works too but only in very select situations but that is with any technique. I roll around with ju juistu guys every now and again. They hate my throws, elbow submissions because they are very similar to judo and ju jitsu but have slight differences in them. A common elbow break would be a duck under but you have control of the hand and use your shoulder to break the joint. That is only for self defense and not for sport or practice that will ruin someone's career. Hand submissions and manipulation. The weird part is the fingers are the weakest part of the hand. They are more fragile and can easily be manipulated and are very annoying to deal with when your opponent is constantly grabbing your fingers. However in that style we wear different clothing we wear baggy European Renaissance period clothing. However some places allow sweat shirts and sweat pants. Basically you need something to grab onto. Any grappling martial that trains with clothing like that is deadly. Clothing is so useful to grab onto especially hoodies you can do all kinds fun stuff. It gives you access to throws you would normally wouldn't have on a singlet or shirtless.
